The parents also have three older children who live outside of the house and may visit over summer and/or school breaks, though will not require care from the nanny. Having worked with nannies, chefs, housekeepers, and other executive staff over the years, the family is glad to have made some life-long, extended family relationships with past caregivers and employees.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who first and foremost loves kids and is excited to engage with a 7-year-old! A candidate who brings a willingness to pitch in around the house and sees themselves as a teammate to parents and other staff will be key. The family enjoys partnering with candidates who bring patience and a calm yet confident, self-starter attitude to the role, as well as an excitement to travel frequently throughout the year. Someone who understands boundaries and is comfortable implementing them will be key!
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child(ren) to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, and errands, before and after school routines, and traveling with the family throughout the year. The nanny will be responsible for ensuring schoolwork is completed each morning. Family assisting duties include pitching in with simple errands, light tidying, and pet care as needed.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would welcome a candidate who brings a second language to share in the role (their son is currently learning Spanish), a Bachelor's degree in an education-related field, or who shares a love for the outdoors and snow sports. These are all pluses as they are truly looking for the right fit who wants to join their team, hopefully for years to come!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Experience traveling with families and children
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care.
