Closed
West Coast

An attentive, loving family of four in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles is seeking an organized, nurturing nanny to join them in caring for their two young children!

  • Location: Los Angeles, CA
  • Ages of children: 3 years old and 10 months old
  • Contract dates: March 2nd-June 2nd. The family may be open to extending into a travel nanny contract this summer in Italy, and beyond, if it is a perfect match and dependent on candidate availability! Some flexibility on start and end dates may be available for the perfect applicant.
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40+ hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm or similar. Flexibility for evenings, occasional weekend support, and the ability to travel with the family will be asked in advance and appreciated.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule for the ~3 month contract. The family is open to considering candidates who are seeking a higher compensation rate commensurate with experience and pending live-in/live-out status.
  • Accommodations: Flexible to live in or live out. If live-in, the candidate will be provided a private bedroom and bathroom in a separate part of the family’s home.

Household Dynamic:

  • This lovely, caring, and adventurous family is relocating to Los Angeles from the UK and they are looking for an experienced nanny to join them in caring for their two children. At 3 years old, their son is very active and outdoorsy. He currently attends Forest School, and they are excited to welcome a candidate who can continue an educationally-focused, child-led daily structure as they settle into life in LA. They also have a sweet 10-month-old daughter and enjoy following a child-led, gentle parenting approach with their children. The family also has a house cat, who is described as being super friendly and enjoys lots of attention.
  • The family works between Los Angeles, Italy, and the UK, frequently traveling throughout the year. For the right fit, they would love to have a candidate join them on their travels to Italy this summer and beyond! Both parents work in and out of the home, and a collaborative, team-minded energy will be key to working in partnership with mom to divide and conquer the day’s needs.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a candidate who is naturally passionate and interested in children and brings a kind, friendly, fun, patient, committed, creative spirit to their role! A candidate who possesses relevant experience with children of the same age, and brings an educational approach to each day will thrive in the role. As the eldest son will not be attending preschool until Fall, someone who can continue on with child-led, play-based learning and developing and maintaining a structure during the day will be essential.
  • This is a child-centered role, and all responsibilities will relate to caring for the children! Responsibilities include creating a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that supports the needs of the children and supports their development, managing schedules and organizing activities, and child-related meal prep and tidying.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the ideal candidate would be qualified in Montessori, Forest School, or other child-led modalities, or have a degree in Early Childhood Education, pedagogy psychology, or any related areas. Bringing an educationally-minded lens to each day is key for the right person, regardless of training!
