Household dynamic:
- This globally-minded family has one 22-month-old daughter and they are excited to welcome a new baby this summer. Their daughter is as sweet and curious as they come! She loves ballet class, trips to the orchard for apple picking, and playtime at the park where she can meet and play with children from diverse backgrounds. She also loves to visit new restaurants and has shown interest in trying foods from various cuisines! These busy dual-career parents work from home a few days per week and look forward to meeting a candidate who is familiar with this dynamic and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. They will also have a Newborn Care Specialist for overnight support during the first couple of months after the new baby is born. Mom and dad hope to find a nanny who has a passion for both infants and toddlers and who would be excited to care for both children after their parental leave ends. The family also has a loving French Bulldog who is very fond of people and loves to play alongside the family.
- The family is looking into Spanish or Mandarin language immersion schools for their daughter and would love to meet a candidate who is fluent in either language so they can support a bilingual environment at home. The family plans to travel internationally with their nanny and to various cities within the United States, and they look forward to new adventures and creating wonderful memories together.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone with recent infant and toddler experience who can proactively and kindly take the lead on what needs to be done and who exhibits a true love for working with children and families. An extremely responsible candidate with a high level of care and awareness, and who can build an authentic connection with the children will thrive in this position. This family is looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows initiative, and is a frequent and clear communicator. They also hope to work with a candidate fluent in Spanish or Mandarin to support their child’s language development.
- For the first few months, this role will be toddler-focused, with occasional newborn care support as needed. When the newborn care specialist’s contract ends and both parents return to work, the nanny will begin to care for the infant as well. Responsibilities include creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the children to grow and thrive, taking children to activities, light children’s meal preparation, and child-related housekeeping. Confidence in navigating NYC with small children and understanding that their safety is the top priority at all times is paramount.
- They would also like to find a candidate who is excited to travel with them throughout the year and who has experience traveling with children and families!
Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish OR Mandarin

- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
