CLOSED: Experienced Temporary Nanny Needed For Jet-Setting DC Family For A 6-Month Contract!

A busy, travel-loving DC-based family is excited to find an organized, professional nanny to join them in caring for their almost one-year-old!

• Location: Washington, DC
• Ages of children: 9 months old
• Contract dates: As soon as possible through July 2023. For the perfect fit, the family would love to extend the role long-term!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-50 hours per week, with the general schedule falling between 9am and 6pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and 12pm to 9pm on Thursday and Friday. A candidate who is flexible to support some weekends and travel during the contract will be asked in advance and appreciated!
• Compensation: The family is offering $30-35/hour based on the 40-50+ hour/week schedule, which equates to a base contract compensation of $43-50k dependent on experience, start date, and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, sick days, relocation assistance, and a health insurance stipend dependent on candidate need and the full benefits package.
• Accommodations: Live-out. For non-local candidates, the family is happy to provide a nearby studio apartment that is a 9-minute walk from their home! They are happy to consider local candidates as well for this role!

• Based in Central D.C., this family loves to travel both locally and internationally! At 9 months old, their sweet only child is described by her parents as being a curious, smart, and engaged baby. She loves to eat food (any kind), go on walks to the park, and sit in the sun with her mom. The family enjoys an organized home and routines to keep life with the baby simple and allow her to thrive without being too rigid.
• The family resides in a walkable, convenient, and fun part of town and tries to embrace their surroundings as much as possible! As dual-working parents, they stay busy with work and other passions and are excited to partner with a nanny who can jump in and simplify their lives. Mom works from home and is in a line of work that brings her to Italy multiple times per year, joined by both nanny and baby! The nanny can anticipate joining on 1-2 trips to Italy, as well as family trips to Aruba and NYC. Get ready to travel!

• This position is ideal for a candidate who loves nurturing toddlers through their growth and development! A candidate who brings a collaborative, warm approach to their role and is excited to partner and work in tandem with mom will thrive alongside this welcoming family. Someone who brings professionalism and can-do energy will be a great fit, as well as someone who is experienced with the infant through the early toddler stage!
• Responsibilities include providing a warm and fun environment for the child to grow and thrive! Bringing a playful and curious mindset to the role and providing opportunities for play and curiosity will be key. Other responsibilities include light children’s meal prep, tidying children’s spaces, and traveling with the family as needed! This role will require frequent lifting of the baby and stroller, as well as walking to and from nearby destinations, as they are in a great, walkable neighborhood, so someone who enjoys being out and about will be a great fit.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who possesses Italian language skills!

Qualifications:

• Valid passport
• Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
• Travel nanny experience
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Ability to physically lift 35 pounds
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
