- Start date/Contract dates: June 1st, 2023
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling between Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm or similar.
- Compensation: The family is offering $30-35/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $62-73k/year range dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.

- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in/accommodations provided. The family will provide private accommodations on or near their property. They would welcome a candidate who is local and does not need housing provided, as well!
Household dynamic:
- This spontaneous, creative, and village-minded family is excited to grow in more ways than one by welcoming their first nanny in June and their second child in July! Their five-year-old son is energetic, bright, and social. He currently attends a Steiner-inspired home-school program three days per week and is looking forward to kindergarten in the fall. As their son has mild sensory processing challenges they endeavor to surround their child with curiosity and collaborative, open energy, rather than creating labels and limitations. This allows them to see their son as a learning being evolving before their eyes without having expectations about what their child should be, so they can allow him to become who he is meant to be. The family is excited for their nanny to support Mom and their new baby while their son is at school, with the primary focus being on caring for their son before and after school.
- This family is eager to create a way of life that draws on older wisdom and traditions and would love to work with a nanny who has a similar sense of open-mindedness. Russian is spoken occasionally in the house, but this is not a requirement of the nanny. Both parents are in and out of the house throughout the day and one parent is a stay-at-home parent who looks forward to collaborating and spending time with the children alongside the nanny.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who is RIE and Waldorf-oriented, self-directed, and who has a sensitivity toward child development through the lens of non-interference and allows the learning to unfold will be valued. A candidate who is adaptable and eager to implement Waldorf philosophies, and who can be with a child with unique needs without labeling them or expecting specific outcomes will thrive. A nanny who is excited to watch and stimulate the growth and development of children is key!
- Responsibilities include creating a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that supports the needs of the whole child – academic, physical, emotional, and spiritual. This family is primarily looking for support with their older son, with supplemental support for the baby. The family looks forward to evolving the daily schedules and responsibilities alongside their nanny as they prepare for their family to grow.
Qualifications:
- Experience or familiarity with Waldorf and RIE educational philosophy
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Recent experience with newborns and 5+ years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
