These family-oriented first-time parents based in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn are excited to find a proactive, warm nanny who can join them in caring for their newborn!
- Location: Brooklyn, NY
- Ages of children: 5 weeks old
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 45 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday between 9am to 6pm, or similar. Flexibility for overnights, weekends, and semi-frequent travel will be asked in advance and appreciated!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 45+ hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $86-100k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a MetroCard, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package. The family is happy to provide a vehicle for professional use, should the candidate possess a valid driver’s license.

Household dynamic:
- This calm, social family of three (four if you include their sweet senior dog!) is loving their time with their newest addition, and have enjoyed spending lots of time together during the first month. They have been working with a postpartum doula, and are looking forward to transitioning into working with a full-time nanny this fall! Both parents will be working part-time for the remainder of the year. They look forward to building a new relationship with their nanny as they begin to balance work and family time.
- While Boerum Hill is home, the family loves spending time upstate in the Catskills when they are able to get away. They travel for work and for pleasure, spending up to 2 months of the year outside of NYC, and will enjoy working with a nanny who is comfortable joining them on their travels. Both parents work from home on an on-and-off basis, and they will be in and out during the day. They have close family and young cousins nearby, and look forward to joining them at city parks, museums, and discovering new places together! A candidate who is excited to grow alongside this family will be a wonderful fit.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who is adaptable, open-minded, and excited to support first-time parents and grow alongside them! The family looks forward to having a collaborative and trusting relationship with their nanny, and someone who is eager to establish an open line of communication will flow well in this family dynamic. A love for dogs and babies is an absolute must!
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal and bottle prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, and errands, coordinating outings activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A willingness to jump in on occasional family assisting duties will be appreciated!
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a nanny who is open to pitching in with occasional pet care for their dear dog!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid passport
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Dog friendly!
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
