A playful and imaginative family based in Portland, Oregon is seeking a dedicated and consistent nanny to help in caring for their children!
- Location: Portland, OR
- Ages of children: 8 and 6 years old
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Tuesday-Friday from 11 am to 7 pm, and Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm or similar. The family is happy to offer 1 full weekend off per month, and they are excited to develop a weekly schedule that best supports all parties! Enthusiasm for traveling with the family on week-long vacation-style travel 2-4 weeks/year, providing 2-3 nights of overnight care when dad travels for work once a month, and being willing to work with the family to adjust the weekly schedule according to school/activity schedules will be asked and appreciated.
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73-83k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in or live-out. If live-in, a carriage house on the family's property will be available.
Household dynamic:
- This Portland-based family has two boys ages 8 and 6 and they’re looking forward to adding a nanny to their family dynamic. Their boys are described as being respectful, soulful, and well-behaved as well as active and energetic! The 8-year-old enjoys quiet pleasures such as reading, video games, lego, board games, movies, and sports. He is an introspective and intelligent child. The 6-year-old is full of energy, joy, creativity, and imagination. He loves to create fun and drive activities from outdoor play to artwork, toys, adventure, and more. Both boys attend school full-time from late August to early June. They also have one loving and low-maintenance dog.
- As a recently widowed parent, Dad is hopeful to find a candidate who can be a supportive and guiding light within their home. Dad works remotely and travels for work occasionally with 2-3 nights away from home per month. As a family, they enjoy traveling to their favorite places such as the Oregon coast, Colorado, and New England. They also love outdoor activities such as skiing, going to the beach, biking, golf, rock climbing, swimming in their pool, watching and playing sports, and more. They are grateful to have extended family in their area who are an active part of their lives.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who brings a calm, creative, and nurturing energy to the role and is eager to work with two warm-hearted elementary school-aged children. The children have various systems of support in place, and the focus of their nanny’s role will be to ensure a warm, engaging, and supportive environment at home. A candidate who is versed in supporting each child’s individual growth and development and who will take initiative in planning educational and age-appropriate activities and engaging in play each day will be valued. The family would love to work with a nanny who enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, skiing/snowboarding, swimming, etc. and who will join in on the fun!
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive. This includes but is not limited to, supporting schedules and daily routines, collaborating with Dad, helping with homework and school projects, child-related meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A candidate who is willing to help where help is needed will thrive in this role!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience with early elementary and elementary-age children
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Dog friendly!
