Nurturing, Experienced Nanny Needed For Globally-Minded Family In Omaha/Boston

This warm, private family of three based in Omaha/Boston is excited to find a nanny to join them in caring for their sweet almost 1-year-old daughter!

• Location: Omaha, NE/ Boston, MA. The family will be based in Omaha until they relocate to Boston in July 2024.
• Ages of children: 10 months old
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
• The family is excited to meet candidates who are interested in relocating to Boston with them in July, but are open to meeting applicants who are only available for the 6 month live-in role in Omaha!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm or similar. Flexibility for travel and occasional overnights will be key!
• Compensation: The family is offering $35-45/hour based on the 50 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $91-128k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. The family will provide onsite accommodations with access to a fully-furnished condo within the family’s residence in Omaha. They are happy to consider both live-in or live-out accommodations in Boston, pending candidate preference.
• Other Notes: The nanny condo contains a well-equipped playroom, and care at home will take place in the nanny’s condo, but will be fully private during all non-working hours. A vehicle is not required in this role, as the family resides in a walkable area! If a candidate would like to use their personal vehicle professionally, the family is happy to provide a vehicle stipend.

Household dynamic:

• These organized, kind parents welcomed their baby last January, and have loved working with their newborn care specialist! They will be transitioning into full-time nanny care in the coming months, and are excited to find a candidate who can be a professional, warm, caring member of their parenting team! Their 10-month-old is described by her parents as being a lovely emerging toddler who loves experimenting with food, go outside, and listen to music. Their world revolves around her, and they are proud to be her parents!
• The family is Canadian, and splits their time between Toronto and the US. They have other residences and love to travel whenever possible. They enjoy spending the weekends picnicking and travelling! A candidate who is travel-ready and can join on their many travels will be a great fit. They are headed to Maui this upcoming winter, and love going to visit loved ones in Canada and visiting other destinations like Florida, the Middle East, Asia, and Chicago. The family keeps their home free of pork and alcohol, so a candidate who can be mindful of this will be essential.

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for someone who is a career nanny and is excited about helping children develop and grow up to become kind, independent people! This family utilizes a mix of boundaries with respectful parenting, and looks forward to finding a candidate who aligns with, or has a formal background in RIE and/or Montessori philosophies. A candidate who is excited to support their almost-toddler-age daughter, as well as jump in to support the family holistically will be a wonderful fit!
• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child(ren) to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to child meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Someone who can jump in with light family assisting work, like tidying common areas and laundry will be appreciated!
• While not a requirement for the role, a candidate who brings other passions and skills to the role, such as playing a musical instrument, cooking, or speaking a second language, will be a huge bonus!

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid passport and driver’s license
• RIE and/or Montessori certification preferred but not required
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers
• Travel experience
• Sleep training experience strongly preferred
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
