Household dynamic:

  • This joyful family of four has two hilarious and loving little boys. Their six-year-old is into playing legos, reading, crafts, and being silly. He recently started Tae Kwon Do and will begin attending a language immersion school in the fall. Their four-year-old enjoys cars, books, being outdoors, music, and crafts. He is currently enrolled in a forest preschool. Both boys are starting soccer this spring and the younger son will soon join his big brother in Tae Kwon Do. The family lives close to a national park and they love experiencing the natural world together. Some of their favorite things to do as a family are cooking, trying new foods, reading books together, playing games together, and focusing on creating memories and traditions. They also love impromptu dance parties and snuggling on the couch and laughing. Volunteering and helping others have been a big focus in their lives, and they look forward to continuing that as a family. The ideal candidate would be someone to help facilitate memories and experiences for the boys and the family as a whole.
  • This travel-loving bunch spends time in the mountains of Virginia, near Charlottesville, and in Edinburgh, Scotland. Mom and dad want to bring up their sons with an appreciation and awareness of different cultures and experiences by traveling around the world as much as they can. They look forward to a year of traveling the world in the near future and would love to work with a family assistant/nanny who would be excited to join them. The ideal candidate would be someone to help facilitate memories and experiences for the boys and the family as a whole.
  • Both parents are in and out of the home regularly and they appreciate collaboration and open communication so they can work as a team and support each other.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who is an organized self-starter with a confident management style and a proactive mindset. A candidate who is outgoing and engaging and who will be a positive role model for the boys will thrive in this role. Someone who enjoys being active with kids to encourage a love of movement alongside the parents will be valued. This family would love to work with a candidate who is educationally minded and will help their sons grow mentally and physically. For these parents, education doesn’t simply happen in the classroom. It can happen everywhere and they want to capitalize on those learning moments whether they are in a grocery store or by the pyramids in Egypt.
  • Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to learn and grow! While the children are in school, family assisting responsibilities include grocery shopping, personal assistant tasks, overseeing home maintenance/repairs, vendor management, travel planning, light organization, and generally pitching in to keep the household running smoothly! Childcare responsibilities include engaging with the children in fun as well as with chores around the house to help them build responsibility and independence. Additional responsibilities would include keeping the children's areas organized, pitching into the overall tidiness of the household, helping keep the kitchen in order, running child-related errands, basic meal prep, and children's laundry.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a nanny who speaks any foreign language with a bonus for Japanese or Spanish.

  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
  • Experience traveling with families and children
  • Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
  • Clean driving record and a confident, experienced city driver, including interstates
