An affectionate and adventurous family of four is seeking a positive and proactive family assistant/nanny to join them in caring for their two children and household!
- Location: Orlando, Florida
- Ages of children: 5 and 1.5 years old
- Start date: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday. The candidate can expect to work 8-9 hours/day between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Flexibility on the hours, adaptability to the changing schedule, and the ability to support the changing needs of the family are key in this role. They will always provide as much advanced notice as possible!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation in the $73-83k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.

- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. A private bedroom and bathroom in the family’s home will be provided.

- This dynamic, close-knit family considers life to be one big adventure. They prioritize quality time with their children and love fun activities like racing scooters, visiting parks, and jumping into creative projects. Their two young children are outgoing and love to laugh. At five years old, their daughter is described as enthusiastic, witty, and playful. Their son, who is one and a half, is described as good-natured, thoughtful, and loving. He eagerly follows his sister’s lead! They are both curious, imaginative, and love to explore and learn.
- These dual-career parents are both surgeons with demanding and sometimes unpredictable schedules. In addition to adding a nanny/family assistant to the team, the family also works with a housekeeper three times per week and a chef who prepares meals in advance. This family is fortunate to have a set of grandparents nearby who are frequent visitors and caregivers to the children. As travel enthusiasts, they love to embark on weekend adventures to the beach, nearby Disney, and exciting getaways whenever possible. They typically enjoy two week-long international trips per year and 2-4 week-long (or shorter) domestic trips and look forward to working with a candidate who will be excited to join them!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a nanny/family assistant who is knowledgeable about preschoolers’ early childhood development and who the family can lean on for expertise and creativity to foster a space of daily learning, growth, and fun-filled, enriching activities. Someone who enjoys being playful and fun while maintaining expectations and setting firm and loving boundaries is ideal. The family has connected with play-based, child-led learning philosophies, like Montessori and Waldorf, and they appreciate the early development of independence. They value a respectful and positive discipline approach alongside no screentime. A candidate who is organized, capable of supporting a busy household, and has a positive spirit and a can-do attitude will thrive in this role! They have a strong desire for a nanny who is eager to evolve into more family assisting duties as their children grow older.
- On a typical day, the ideal candidate is able to provide family assisting support when the children are in school, such as tidying, ordering and maintaining groceries and household inventory, family-related errands, healthy meal prep, and managing and overseeing household maintenance. When the children get home from school, the candidate will switch to a childcare focus, such as facilitating school pick-ups, after-school activities, and daily routines. Additional support will include date night coverage, evening events, morning and full daytime coverage when the kids are on early dismissal or days off from school, and the potential for a weekend day or travel, with advanced notice. Above all, a pitch-in, collaborative, and professional spirit will be essential in this fun-loving, welcoming household!
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with a strong background or working knowledge of the Montessori methods to bring these methods into the home. A candidate who possesses a bachelor’s degree and/or is bilingual is also a plus!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers and experience with preschool-age children
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Family assisting experience
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
