Collaborative, Developmentally-Minded ROTA Nanny Needed For Houston, TX Family

Nationwide

A friendly, busy family of four based in Houston, TX is seeking a warm, professional, and developmentally-minded rotational nanny to join their team!

  • Location: Houston, TX
  • Ages of children: 3 years old and 22 months old. They are hopeful to welcome an additional child in the next year!
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, rotational role of 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off, with the general working hours falling 12 hours/day from 7:30am to 7:30pm. Flexibility to provide occasional overnight coverage and to travel with the family throughout the year will be essential. However, while in Houston, the family has a network of sitters who are able to watch monitors in the evenings as needed after bath and bedtime.
  • Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $100-110k/year dependent on candidate experience. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is providing full corporate benefits including paid holidays, paid time off, health, life, and dental insurance, matching 401k contributions, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package. A vehicle will be provided for professional use.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. Must be okay with occasional live-in situations such as during vacations, etc.
  • Other Notes: The family is only open to candidates who are local to or willing to relocate to the Houston area at this time.

Household dynamic:

  • This very busy Houston family and their two small-medium-sized rescue dogs are eager to find another rotational nanny to join their team! The family’s 3-year-old son is described as being sweet, curious, well-behaved, sensitive, and highly intelligent. He loves the natural world, and so someone who likes the outdoors and doesn’t mind bugs would be ideal! Their youngest is described as a funny, energetic almost 2-year-old who is as precocious physically as she is verbally. She is already a runner with a high motor, has a big vocabulary she uses to express strong opinions, and doesn’t miss a beat.
  • The family has significant professional obligations and also travels extensively for pleasure, both internationally and domestically to destinations such as their family home in Aspen for winter sports; Carmel for hiking and beachcombing; warm-water ports to meet the family yacht for scuba diving and other water sports; and international destinations across North America, Asia and Europe for work trips. They value creating a sustainable, supportive, but nevertheless highly professional work environment and have loved working with their Adventure Nannies nanny team. The family is hopeful to grow in the near future so experience with newborns/infants is necessary.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a caregiver who is experienced with the newborn through early elementary years, and who can provide steady reassurance, routine, and behavioral redirection where needed to help their children grow to be autonomous, expressive, and confident! A caregiver who is eager to support children’s holistic development and has previous ECE experience is required.
  • The family hopes to work with a nanny who has a comprehensive approach to and passion for child development, and who can help to foster social-emotional learning. Willingness to provide a helping hand throughout the home with various family assisting tasks such as kitchen stocking, general organizing, etc., will be appreciated.
  • While not a requirement for the role, a Montessori and/or ABA background is strongly preferred and candidates with this experience will be prioritized! The family’s children do not have special needs, but they have found the ABA background/skill set invaluable in their past nanny.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of professional, full-time childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants, toddlers, and early elementary-aged children
  • Early Childhood Education background
  • Strong swimmer and comfortable caring for children in/around water
  • Dog-friendly
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US. Out of respect for the privacy of the families we work with, we cannot provide any additional information about this position other than what has already been provided in the job description.
