An active and worldly Chicago family is seeking a positive, patient, and supportive nanny to help care for their children!
- Location: Chicago, IL
- Ages of children: 8 and 6 years old
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week. The general schedule falls on Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Flexibility to support earlier mornings, weekly date nights, and occasional overnights will be asked for in advance and appreciated!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73-83k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family will provide paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a housing stipend, and relocation assistance.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live out. The family is open to providing a temporary landing pad within their home for the perfect relocation candidate.
Household dynamic:
- This vibrant and active family is passionate about cooking, skiing, beach outings, and fostering creativity in their two energetic 6 and 8-year-old boys. They thrive on outdoor activities, imaginative play, and engaging with their surroundings. Both children attend school full-time and have enjoyed after-school activities including tennis, Judo, piano, and violin. They are a close-knit family that values a tidy and organized home environment where wind-down time in the evenings is cherished. The elder child has ADHD and is supported by a weekly therapist.
- These dual-career parents are in and out of the house regularly, with one parent working from home part-time. The family enjoys regular ski trips to Northern Michigan and occasional vacations to the Caribbean and Europe, but travel is not required for this role!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who is a dedicated and experienced career nanny who loves engaging with school-aged children. While not a requirement of the role, the family would love to work with a candidate that has experience working with children with ADHD, or a receptiveness to acquiring additional knowledge. Patience, firmness, and adaptability are key to successfully establishing and maintaining boundaries while fostering a warm and supportive relationship with the children. The family is excited to work with a candidate who brings a positive attitude and a warm, nurturing, and friendly demeanor to their home. From sledding in the winter to kicking around a soccer ball and swimming at the beach in the summer, the kids will love someone who’s genuinely excited to engage in outdoor activities with them!
- Responsibilities include providing a warm, consistent, and fun environment for the children to grow and thrive! This includes but is not limited to driving the kids to and from activities, patiently supporting them with their homework, child-related meal prep, and being active with them outdoors. Other responsibilities include grocery shopping, meal prep, tidying, errands, and organizational tasks as needed. Someone who is proactive and happy to pitch in with a see a need, fill a need mentality will be valued.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has family assisting experience and travel nanny experience!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience with elementary school-age children
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
