Household dynamic:

  • This caring and focused family seeks a kind, competent, and engaging nanny to support their growing family! The family describes themselves as adventurous, focused, and food-centric. They love trying new cuisines while traveling or near their homes in Upstate, NY, Montreal, QC, and Mexico. Their home, nestled near Hudson, NY, allows the family to enjoy a balance of city comforts with the slower pace and natural beauty of upstate living. The nanny will primarily care for their 2-year-old daughter for the first year while supporting the family as they eagerly anticipate their second child this July. They would love to work with someone who can create a loving, nurturing, and safe environment for their children. They also have two sweet and cuddly dogs, so someone comfortable working in a pet-friendly home is important!
  • Dad works in a separate office five days a week, and Mom works from home part-time. Both parents try to nurture a caring and calm environment and look forward to working with a nanny who can contribute to this vibe. In their free time, they prioritize tactile, hands-on activities over screens as entertainment. They enjoy being active and creative every day! One of the parents is bilingual, speaking both English and French. The family loves to travel, spending two to three months in Mexico City to escape the Northeast winter and heading to St. Maarten over Christmas and New Year’s. During summer, they also travel to sunny destinations for several weeks. The family seeks a proactive, travel-savvy candidate who is accustomed to traveling and is adept at packing and unpacking their travel bags, anticipating the children’s needs during long car rides and flights, and being adaptable when navigating new cities. They would also love to work with a candidate who is comfortable with driving in varied weather conditions, enjoys nature and outdoor activities, and is excited to join them on their adventures!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a compassionate, highly organized, toddler-savvy nanny who loves nurturing growing children! Someone who maintains a calm, warm, and positive energy in their childcare approach while fostering the children’s curiosity and interest will be a perfect fit. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping establish routines, meeting developmental milestones, and truly connecting and engaging with both of the children. The parents would love to work with a communicative and collaborative candidate who can take the lead in supporting the family’s needs with confidence and care. They are excited to find someone loving, caring, helpful, and nurturing who is excited to become a valued member of their growing family!
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. The family would love to work with someone happy to pitch in with family-assisting duties like occasional grocery shopping, basic meal prep, feeding, and occasionally walking the dogs, and some help tidying up and organizing. These duties will be as time allows, as the family is excited to step in and spend as much time with their child as possible.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is fluent in Spanish or French.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Comfortable preparing meals for a toddler
  • Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
  • Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
  • Willing to travel with the family
