Teen-Savvy Nanny/Family Assistant Needed For Outdoor-Loving Family In Mill Valley, CA

A loving, outdoorsy family of four based in Mill Valley, CA is seeking a collaborative nanny/ family assistant to join their household team for the school year!

• Location: Mill Valley, CA
• Ages of children: 12 and 14 years old
• Start date/Contract dates: September 2022 through June 2023
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 30+ hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 2pm-7pm. Flexibility to provide overnight care when parents travel for work will be greatly appreciated!
• Compensation: The family is offering $35-45/hour based on the 30-40 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $50-90k/year range dependent on experience and the agreed upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation and/or housing assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. A private and separate nanny apartment including a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living space with a separate entrance in the family’s home will be provided.

• With their home base in the beautiful Bay Area 20 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from downtown San Francisco, this family loves to travel and spends a large chunk of time on the east coast in Sag Harbor, NY. At 12 and 14 years old, their kids are described by their parents as being creative, playful, and fun-loving teens and the family loves to stay active and get outdoors as much as possible! The family also has a sweet and energetic hypoallergenic dog.
• Both parents work in and out of the home, and like to have a collaborative-yet-autonomous vibe in their home! A candidate who is excited to work as a team player and ensure that both the kids' and household needs are met will thrive in this role and environment. The family has plans to travel throughout the year, and would love for this person to support the kids and household when the parents travel independently for work, with the potential to join them on vacation-style travel throughout the year as well!

A candidate who is well-versed with the teenage years and can provide a supportive, grounded household environment will be valued. The candidate can expect to jump in with homework help, afterschool activity coordination, ensuring healthy dinners are enjoyed, and generally being a beam of after-school support! The family would love to work with a candidate who brings their bright, kind, funny, and compassionate self to work each day. A candidate who is a true team player, can become an integral part of their family team, is travel-ready, and is willing to pitch in as needed will be a great support!

• This family loves living an active, bustling lifestyle, and would love to work with a candidate who is pursuing outside passions, whether it’s an active pursuit like surfing or sports, or starting their own business! For a candidate who is hopeful to build in additional hours and responsibilities into the role, the family would be enthusiastic about welcoming a candidate with a private education background, specifically with supporting neurodivergent learners, and/or someone who has a passion for healthy cooking who wants to lend their talents to the household as a whole.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• A responsible, experienced driver with a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge and experience working with teens
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
• Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care.
