**Details updated 10/6/21** A kind, inclusive family based in a beautiful rural area of Virginia (near Charlottesville) is seeking an intuitive, responsible, and loving nanny to join them in caring for their 4.5 and 1.5-year-old boys!

With 45 acres in Scottsville, VA, this family describes their property as beautiful and peaceful, complete with a pool, creek, plenty of greenery to explore, and vineyards just a stone’s throw away. These dual-career parents work from home and are comfortable, experienced employers who strive to provide an exceptional work environment for their team. With a background in the restaurant industry they value great food, hospitality, humor, and a welcoming environment. They are raising their boys to be kind, empathetic people, and believe it takes a village to do so! Their boys love being outside and all it entails, from wildlife to bugs to anything nature-related. The whole family is excited to welcome a nanny to the team who can continue to foster the family’s empathetic environment and set their boys up to thrive!This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a team-oriented work environment and enjoys partnering with inclusive, hands-on parents. Jumping in with meal prep, grocery shopping, tidying, children’s laundry, and various personal assisting tasks will be important and appreciated. Position Details

  • Hours/Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Mondays through Fridays from 7:45am to 3:45pm. The candidate will be asked to work one date night per week (currently Thursdays with option to adjust if the candidate has a schedule conflict) from 6pm to 9pm. The family rarely requires weekend support, and flexibility for travel will be asked and appreciated with advanced notice!
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out or live-on property. If live-on, a private, separate guest cottage on the family's property will be provided.
  • Compensation and Benefits: The family is offering $30-$35/hour in addition to benefits including healthcare assistance, relocation assistance, and PTO.
  • Start Date: The position will begin as soon as the family finds the perfect fit!
  • Other Notes: Driving is required for this role and a vehicle will be provided for both professional and personal use.

Responsibilities

  • Create an enriching, nurturing, and safe environment for the children to grow and thrive
  • Be a positive role model for the children
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure continuity of care
  • Proactively and intuitively implement and engage with fun-filled, enriching activities for the children, with an emphasis on getting outside
  • Travel with the family as needed throughout the year
  • Prepare simple, healthy meals for the children
  • Pitch in with various household tasks including grocery shopping, tidying, children’s laundry, personal assisting projects, and more

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of professional, full-time childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Proven experience caring for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary-aged children
  • Engaging with a love for the outdoors
  • Collaborative with a step in/step out intuition, and comfortable partnering with loving, hands-on, inclusive parents
  • Comfortable in a semi-rural work environment
  • Comfortable swimming and caring for children in/around water
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
