West Coast

A warm, worldly family in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a nurturing, self-starting weekend nanny to join their family team!

  • Location: Santa Monica, CA
  • Ages of children: 3 and 1 years old
  • Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours/week with the general schedule falling Friday-Sunday from 8am-8pm or similar.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $35/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and/or a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. The family may be able to offer a temporary landing pad and/or a monthly housing stipend for a perfect relocation candidate.

Household dynamic:

  • This organized, kind family is excited to welcome someone special into their family and household! They have a close-knit, warm, loving family dynamic, and seek to instill kindness and independence into their children. The parents describe their two children, ages 1 and 3, as being playful, curious, and objectively speaking, “the best!” Their preschooler always wants to know the "why" behind everything and her little brother loves to observe and mimic his big sister. Their children understand English, Hebrew, and some Russian, and the family loves to expose their kids to new languages and cultures as much as possible.
  • As a busy dual-career household, the parents are excited to bring in a nanny who can become a part of their family and whom they can entrust to love and care for their children when they are not available. The family works with a weekday nanny, housekeeper, and chef, so a candidate who is comfortable working with others is key. A candidate who is open to traveling occasionally with the family will be appreciated!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who is creative and able to engage kids with arts and crafts as well as outdoor activities! A candidate who brings empathetic, calm energy and is experienced with the toddler through preschooler stages will thrive alongside these young children and their parents. A candidate who is excited to be a part of the family, and can intuitively step in and out to offer private family time will be a great fit in this family’s dynamic.
  • Responsibilities include providing a nurturing and loving environment for the children to grow and thrive, light child-related tidying and meal prep, occasional grocery shopping and errands, managing children’s belongings, and pitching in with other family assisting duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
  • Comfortability in preparing basic meals
  • Travel experience
  • Driving experience
  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
