Household dynamic:
- This caring and private family in the Bay Area is seeking an educationally-minded and empathetic nanny to join their nanny team in providing loving and attentive care to their children! They have two toddlers and recently welcomed their third child in January. Their oldest, at 2 years old, will begin Montessori preschool this fall, while their second child will start later next year. The candidate will work alongside their current live-in nanny, who cares for the family’s newborn. The nanny will be responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and developmentally-focused environment for the children. The family also has a quiet dog who mostly shows up around mealtimes, so someone pet-friendly is essential!
- This is a dual-carer household where one parent works exclusively from home while the other alternates between working remotely and spending a few days at the office. The family loves to travel, enjoying long weekend trips, occasional getaways at their friends’ residences, and a “remote work” month in the summer. In addition to their full-time nanny, they also employ a private chef, so a team-minded candidate who can work well with the family and other household staff will be appreciated.
Ideal Candidate:
- This position is ideal for a warm, compassionate, and collaborative nanny who is organized and structured about fostering the early growth and development of three young children! The family seeks someone who can provide the children with an interactive and enriching environment, building their interests and confidence while being patient and attuned to their unique needs and milestones. The ideal candidate is resourceful, highly-organized who is capable of taking the lead in the high-level planning and managing the children’s daily routines and activities will be a perfect fit. This includes providing structure for the children, researching age-appropriate activities, rotating children’s toys, and coordinating their activities and travel. Someone who takes the role seriously, holds themselves to a high standard, and approaches their work with dedication and positivity will be a wonderful addition. A candidate with a learner’s mindset, who is proactive in learning ways to grow in their role, approachable, and eager to take feedback will be greatly valued. Someone confident and experienced in caring for multiple children in a role, particularly with infant through preschool-age children, will thrive in this role.
- Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would be excited to meet a candidate with any of the following qualifications: a bachelor’s degree, a background in Early Childhood Education, and/or Montessori experience.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants through preschool-age children
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Experience caring for multiple (2+) children in a role
- Experience working on a nanny team or in a fully-staffed home
- Comfortable preparing child-related meals
- Travel experience
- Family assisting experience
- Dog-friendly!
- Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
