A creative, calm family of four is seeking a proactive, travel-ready nanny/family assistant to join them as they relocate to West Palm Beach this fall!
- Location: West Palm Beach, FL
- Ages of children: 2 and 4 years old
- Start date/Contract dates: September 2022, flexible for an earlier start date for the perfect applicant
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 52-60 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday-Friday OR Sunday-Thursday between 7am-7pm. The family appreciates a candidate who has an openness for frequent travel (they love to explore the world around them!) and they will always offer two consecutive days off/week whether at home or on the road!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35+/hour based on the 52-60+ hour/week schedule, which equates to annualized base compensation of $105-128+k/year dependent on experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including 3+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance, a vehicle for professional use, travel bonus/incentives, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. The family may be open to offering a housing stipend for the perfect relocation candidate.
Household dynamic:
- This travel-loving and welcoming family has two bright and loving children, ages 4 and 2.5 years old. They describe their children as being incredibly close siblings who love to do many activities together and hang out with their dog. Their eldest takes on the role of "big sister" and loves to color, do ballet and gymnastics, and adores attending pre-school. Their youngest is an active and curious boy who loves riding his bike, kicking a soccer ball, and learning about monster trucks. He has memorized all of his favorite books. Both kids are in preschool three mornings a week. Starting in the fall, their eldest will attend Pre-K 5 full days (8-3pm) and the youngest will continue attending preschool 3 mornings a week.
- The family is moving permanently to West Palm Beach from the Boston area this fall! They love to travel and regularly spend time in Nantucket, Virginia, The Hamptons, and Colorado and already have plans to visit Alaska, California, Maryland, and Texas in the months ahead. Both parents work outside of the immediate home, though expect to be in and out with some regularity. A candidate who works well both independently and collaboratively will thrive in this role. The family has had wonderful longevity with their nanny in Boston, and are eager to find another partner in caring for their children as they put down roots in West Palm Beach!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a candidate who is warm-spirited and loves creating a playful and educational environment and assisting a busy household! The family is eager to work with someone who has a pitch-in attitude and is well-versed in planning new activities and caring for the children’s socio-emotional needs. Ideally, someone with a background in education would be preferred with prior teaching experience in a classroom or private setting. A candidate who is familiar and aligned with the Montessori approach will be valued. The family is happy to provide additional classes or training if a candidate is unfamiliar.
- This role will focus equally on nannying and family assisting duties. Responsibilities include creating a safe environment for the children to grow and thrive, light pet care, grocery shopping, children’s meal prep (picky eater experience would be great!), child-related laundry and housekeeping, and occasional tidying up of common areas. As the children grow, the opportunity to build on the family assisting duties will be wonderful for the perfect candidate long-term!
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Comfortability preparing basic meals
- Family assisting experience
- Familiarity and alignment with Montessori
- Experience teaching or tutoring children preferred
- Excitement and flexibility to travel with the family frequently throughout the year
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Dog friendly!
