Household dynamic:
- This globally-minded family is excited to find a nanny/family assistant to join them in caring for their 3 artistic and creative girls. Their youngest is a fun and engaging goofball, who loves animals, learning, and connecting with others. Their middle child is creative and really loves art and math. The eldest is an earnest big sister who loves playing sports and loves the people in her life deeply; from teachers and caregivers to friends. All three girls attend school during the day, so a candidate who can balance their busy schedules with family assistance will be key!
- While they have kept most of their recent travel local, this family loves world travel and hopes to visit more places over the next few years! The family would love to work with a candidate who would be up for a trip to London, heading upstate for a weekend, or joining in on other family trips. Dad just recently returned to the office and Mom is in and out of the home regularly. They employ a housekeeper and are hopeful to bring a chef on their team as well. A candidate who communicates well with parents and staff, has a see-a-need, fill-a-need mentality, and can be a right hand to busy working professionals will thrive in this role!
- While not a requirement, the family would love someone who brings other life experience to their role, like another professional career path or experience living in a variety of places!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a self-starter who is excited to jump into a role that utilizes both their childcare experience and family/personal assisting skills in a bustling home environment! The ideal candidate is reliable, kind, flexible, calm, cooperative, detail-oriented, organized, and a team player. Discretion and confidentiality are important to the family, so a candidate who brings professionalism as a representative of the family will be valued. Above all, they are excited to work with someone who enjoys children and has specific experience working with older children.
- Nanny responsibilities include school pickups, organizing playdates and after-school activities, organizing kids' closets and purchasing clothing, and homework help, supporting bathtime/winding down time, child-related tidying, and cleaning backpacks at the end of the day. Saturdays would be similar, with an added edge of meal prep/kitchen clean-up, running errands, and taking the kids to playgrounds for their free time!
- Household management responsibilities include planning vacations, purchasing gifts, coordinating vendors and assisting with party or dinner planning, coordinating children’s calendars, and being a general beam of support to whatever is needed in the household! A candidate who sees opportunities to jump in and assist the family will love working with this family for years to come.
Qualifications:
- Valid passport
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
- Family, personal, or other administrative experience
- Travel experience
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Live within a commutable distance to NYC or has previous experience living in the greater NYC area
- Confidence in caring for children in and around water
