Proactive + Fun-Loving Nanny/Family Assistant Needed For Kind Brooklyn Family

**Details Updated 1/19/2022** A warm Brooklyn-based family is seeking a loving and proactive nanny/family assistant to join their family in keeping their home running smoothly and caring for their 5-year-old and 8-year-old children!

• Location: Brooklyn, NY (Prospect Heights)
• Ages of children: 5 and 8 years old
• Start Date: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 43 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel will be asked in advance and appreciated!
• Compensation and benefits: The family is offering $30-35+/hour DOE in addition to benefits including a MetroCard, monthly healthcare stipend, and 6 weeks PTO aligning with the family’s vacation over major holidays and breaks in the school year, resulting in an annualized compensation package of $70-85+k/year range for the perfect applicant.
• Live-in/Live-Out: Live-out; Live-in during summers. Private accommodations will always be offered when traveling or staying at the family’s property in Long Island.

• Daily environment:
  • This friendly family of four enjoys life in NYC! When not venturing around exciting Brooklyn, they love traveling to the beach and soaking up some sunshine. The family is excited to welcome a candidate who will travel with them to their home on Long Island during the summer months, as well as other exciting destinations throughout the year! These dual-career parents both work hybrid from home/in the office. Both children attend Montessori school from 8am to 3pm, and attend after school activities such as sports practices and music lessons 2-3 days a week until around 4:30pm.
  • The parents describe their eldest as a classic first born; very organized and a planner! He also enjoys doing projects, reading, and playing anything that involves a ball. Their 5-year-old daughter is described as slow to warm up, but once you're in, she's a very goofy and loving soul with an incredible attention span. She enjoys creating art and playing “kitchen”.
  • They love to be active and get around by electric bike in Brooklyn. The family would be excited to hire a candidate who is interested in this transportation mode!

  • Excitement to provide household support and assistance, such as grocery shopping, cooking healthy simple dinners for the family, errands, ordering household supplies, providing order and structure to household spaces, calendar management, and more.
  • Able to create engaging, fun-filled activities after school and support evening routines.
  • Experience/familiarity with Montessori philosophies or a Spanish language background is a big plus!

• Must Haves:
  • At least 3 years of professional, full-time childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Recent, applicable experience caring for elementary-aged children
  • Health-conscious and able to prepare simple, healthy dinners for the entire family
  • Strong swimmer and comfortable caring for children in and around water, including swimming pools, lakes, rivers, and oceans, with knowledge of water safety
  • Willing to follow a child-led, Montessori approach
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws.
