CLOSED - Nurturing, Gentle Nanny Needed For Globally-Minded Family In Boston

This warm, private family of three based in Boston is excited to find a nanny to join them in caring for their sweet 1-year-old daughter!

• Location: Boston, MA.
• Ages of children: 1 year old
• Start date/Contract dates: July 2024 or as soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm or similar. Flexibility for schedule changes, travel, weekends, and occasional overnights will be key!
• Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 50-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $100-114k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family is open to providing higher hourly compensation to candidates who possess Montessori or RIE experience and/or certification.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance, as applicable.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.

Household dynamic:

• These organized, kind parents welcomed their baby last January and loved working with their newborn care specialist throughout their daughter's first year! As the family transitions into full-time nanny care, they are excited to find a candidate who can be a professional, warm, caring member of their parenting team! Their 14-month-old is described by her parents as being a lovely emerging toddler who loves experimenting with food, going outside, and listening to music. Their world revolves around her, and they are proud to be her parents!
• The family is Canadian and splits their time between Toronto and the US. They have other residences and love to travel whenever possible. They enjoy spending the weekends picnicking and traveling! A candidate who is travel-ready and can join on their many travels will be a great fit. They enjoy going to visit loved ones in Canada and other destinations like Florida, the Middle East, Asia, and Chicago. The family keeps their home free of pork and alcohol, so a candidate who can be mindful of this will be essential.

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for someone who is a warm and patient career nanny and is excited about helping children develop and grow up to become kind, independent people! This family utilizes a mix of healthy boundaries with gentle parenting and looks forward to finding a candidate who aligns with or has a formal background in RIE and/or Montessori philosophies. A candidate who is excited to support and keep up with their active toddler-age daughter, develop daily routines and rhythms, as well as jump in to support the family holistically will be a wonderful fit!
• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to balanced and nutritious meal prep (introducing solids!), tidying, organizing children’s areas, errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Someone who can jump in with light family assisting work, like tidying common areas and laundry will be appreciated!
• While not a requirement for the role, a candidate who brings other passions and skills to the role, such as playing a musical instrument, cooking, or speaking a second language, will be a huge bonus!

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid passport and driver’s license
• RIE and/or Montessori certification preferred but not required
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers
• Travel experience
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
