Position Filled - Joyful, Travel-Loving Nanny Needed For Family Based In Maui, Santa Cruz + Nantucket

An adventurous, active, and loving family based in Maui, Santa Cruz and Nantucket is seeking a travel-ready, joyful, and creative nanny to join their family and help care for their 3.5-year-old and 1.5-year-old boys!

• Location: The family splits time between Maui, Santa Cruz and Nantucket throughout the year, spending about 4 months in each location.
• Ages of children: 3.5 and 1.5 year old boys
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm (or 6:30am - 4pm in Maui).
• Compensation The family is offering $80-90K/year annualized base compensation based on the 50+ hour/week schedule equating to $30+/hr dependent on experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days, health insurance stipend, relocation assistance and a vehicle for use while on-duty.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in, the family will provide private nanny accommodations at all residences which may include a bedroom with ensuite bath, a private and separate space on property, or private bedroom and nearby bathroom depending on the set up of the home. The family is happy to prioritize offering private and separate space during the candidate’s off time no matter the location.

Family Dynamic:

• The family spends their summers in Nantucket, and splits the rest of the year in Maui and Santa Cruz. They expect their eldest to start pre-school this year or next which will mean more time in one location (likely Maui). When it’s safe to travel, they frequently adventure to other spots, and may be found skiing the mountains in Colorado, surfing in Fiji, visiting Los Angeles or New York for work, or exploring New Zealand, Japan or Europe.
• Both parents are entrepreneurs who work remote full-time and have introduced more flexibility into their schedules in order to maximize family time and exciting adventures. They would love to work with a nanny who is excited to take advantage of their travels to implement creative, educational, and fun activities for their children that utilize the local environment.
• The family is looking for a positive, energetic, and creative spirit who will cultivate a loving, engaging environment for their nanny children. As their eldest is incredibly curious, active, and receptive to the moods of those around him, the family hopes to find a nanny who loves teaching new skills or providing novel experiences. The youngest is an active bundle of joyful smiles, who equally enjoys “attackles” from his brother, riding his scooter, and learning new words.
• Family assisting tasks including: healthy meal prep for the kids during the day, grocery shopping, and help with laundry and light tidying up when time permits.

• A love for the outdoors and an active lifestyle will go a long way in this role as this family loves to explore! And they’ve found that an extra pair of hands can be a valuable addition to a paddleboard or snowshoeing adventure.
• Experience with toddlers, preschool-aged children will be valued along with an in-depth knowledge of developmental milestones to assist in bolstering their children’s love of learning.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• ​​Valid driver’s license and passport
• Experience traveling with families as a nanny (live-in experience preferred)
• Flexible and willing to travel frequently both internationally and domestically
• Strong swimmer and comfortable caring for children in and around water, including oceans and swimming pools, with knowledge of water safety
• Experience with toddlers and preschool-aged children and knowledge of developmental milestones
• Bright, positive, joyful, engaging, energetic spirit
• Passion for engaging with children and encouraging their curiosity, development, and interests
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
