Conscientious and fun-loving first-time parents on the San Francisco Peninsula are seeking a creative nanny with an inclusive mindset to join them in caring for their infant daughter beginning this fall!
- Location: Burlingame, CA
- Ages of children: 11 weeks old
- Start date/Contract dates: End of October 2022
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 45 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 7am to 4pm. Flexibility for an occasional date night and potential for vacation-style travel around the academic calendar will be appreciated with advanced notice.
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-45/hour based on the 45-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $86-110k/year dependent on experience. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. The family may be open to providing a temporary landing pad or housing stipend for the perfect relocation candidate!
Household dynamic:
- These organized, globally-minded first-time parents are excited to create a loving, nurturing environment for their child. They welcomed their baby this May, and are learning to go with the flow as they adapt to life as a family of three. They describe their daughter as having a delightful personality and a smile that could melt an iceberg! Her Dad thinks she's going to be a future astronaut, but it's important to Mom that she knows she can be anything she wants to be!
- The family has two affectionate dogs who love making new friends. Mom works outside of the home, and Dad works from a home office in a creative profession, occasionally going on the road for work for a few weeks at a time. The family resides in a family-friendly neighborhood, with many parks nearby and places to walk to and explore, and they love great food, watching fun TV shows and movies, and spending quality time with friends and family. This family describes themselves as a left-leaning, science-first household and hope to find a nanny who either shares or respects their values in this regard.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a candidate who is excited to support first-time parents in a role and grow with their family and child into toddlerhood (or beyond!). They are excited to work with a candidate who takes great joy in planning developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning and diverse experiences. Someone who brings an organized, intuitive, and warm approach to their role, and who is excited to be a beam of support as they learn and grow together, would be a strong asset. As the family’s days start early, a candidate who is a punctual early riser will be essential, with the trade-off of having an earlier end time to go enjoy the afternoon!
- Responsibilities include child-related tasks, like children’s meal preparation, baby’s laundry, creating and maintaining strong routines. In addition to child-related responsibilities, a willingness to pitch in as needed and provide light pet care will be greatly appreciated! While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who can expose their child to Spanish, Mandarin, and American Sign Language, or a combination!
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license - This role may eventually require driving, and the family would be happy to provide a vehicle for professional use.
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
- Comfortability in preparing basic meals for children
- Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care.
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
