A kind-hearted family based in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced, developmentally-minded, and outgoing nanny to care for their 17-month-old!
Based in Park Slope, these loving parents describe themselves as having struck a great balance between fun-loving and professional. Both parents work from home with dynamic and busy work schedules, and take every opportunity to indulge in family time or stay involved with their vibrant group of friends and neighborhood. They are passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and love to spend their summers in upstate NY near beautiful Saratoga. Their 1-year-old is playful and loves to be read to or taken outside for a swim! As a bustling family of three with busy schedules, they are excited to find a nanny who can provide an extra set of supportive hands and play an integral role in their child’s growth and development!This position is ideal for a candidate who is confident and collaborative, both ready to share in their knowledge and resources of child development while enjoying tag-teaming and following parents’ leads! A nanny who can tailor activities and adventures to their toddler’s interests and developmental stages with ease will be highly valued in this home; an extensive background and/or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development will be essential. The family hopes for a nanny who can take the lead when it comes to researching and implementing activities both in the home and out, ready to set up playdates, head to the park, or take their son to a music or swim class! The family would also be excited to work with a nanny who is fluent in Spanish or Mandarin and can provide an immersive language environment for their son as an alternative to a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development. An all-hands-on-deck spirit to care for and tidy the baby’s environment, meal planning and execution, and run baby-related errands will be appreciated!
Position Details
- Hours/Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 49 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Mondays through Fridays from 8:15am to 6pm. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and travel will be asked in advance and appreciated.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.
- Compensation and Benefits: The family is offering an hourly rate equivalent to $1650-$1750/week inclusive of overtime based on a 49hr/week schedule in addition to benefits including a healthcare stipend, PTO, and a public transportation pass.
- Start Date: The position can begin as soon as the family finds the perfect fit, but ideally by the end of September!
Responsibilities
- Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the child to grow and thrive
- Support a varying daily routine
- Proactively research and implement developmentally-minded activities and outings beyond basic care, with an emphasis on reaching developmental milestones
- Collaborate with parents to ensure continuity of care
- Provide reliable transportation for the child
- Pitch in with child-related household tasks such as light tidying, errands, pet care, and meal prep
- Travel with the family throughout the year as needed, including spending summers in upstate NY
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional, full-time childcare experience
- At least 1 year of experience caring for infants
- Either a Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education OR fluency in Spanish or Mandarin
- Extensive background in early childhood development
- Collaborative, team-spirit with excellent communication skills
- Flexible and able to travel with the family throughout the year, including spending the summers in upstate NY
- Dog friendly!
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
