A lively, fun-loving, and compassionate Kansas City family is seeking an experienced, bright, and dynamic nanny/family assistant to help in caring for their two school-aged children!
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri
- Ages of children: 7 and 5 years old
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-45 hours per week. Candidates can expect to work 8-9 hour days with the general schedule falling between 7 am and 7 pm on Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-45 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $72-98k/year range dependent on experience and the agreed upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on the candidate’s need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in preferred, but the family is open to live-out. A private bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette will be available on the third floor of the family’s home (the family’s au pair also has a room on this floor)
Household dynamic:
- This on-the-go family has two sweet, hilarious, and curious children and two friendly cats. Their 7-year-old daughter is an intensely bright second grader with the chops to become a supreme court justice one day. Her parents joke that her quick wit, determination, and ability to deliberate will be a strong asset to her in the future. Their daughter struggled with online learning during the pandemic and has since become overwhelmed in class and at home while doing homework. This family looks forward to working with a nanny who can provide support and encouragement so their daughter can begin to rebuild her confidence in reading and math and encourage a love of learning. Their 5-year-old son is in kindergarten and is thriving. Both kids attend a French immersion school and the family also has a French au pair who helps support evening and weekend childcare and French language skills with the children. This family values respect, good communication, kindness, and empathy above all else.
- These dual-career parents work varied hours outside of the home and are excited to work with a reliable and organized nanny to help manage their busy and loving household. During family time, they enjoy relaxing at home, playing board games, going to parks, exploring the city, and taking fun vacations! The family would love to meet a nanny who would like to travel with them, but they are open and flexible.
Ideal candidate:
- The ideal candidate for this role will be able to thrive working both autonomously and collaboratively and will bring enthusiasm to engage with the children each day. Someone who is trained in, or confident with, supporting elementary-aged children with reading and math will be a great asset to this family. A candidate who has strong communication skills, who can maintain loving boundaries with the children, and who is excited to partner with two involved parents will be key.
- Responsibilities include providing a warm, consistent, and fun environment for the children to grow and thrive! This includes, but is not limited to, helping kids get ready for school in the morning, walking them to and from school each day, working on various household tasks while the kids are in school, patiently and kindly supporting the children with their reading and math skills, encouraging them to practice piano, and playing with them! While the children are in school the family would love help with grocery shopping, meal prep, and other household errands and tasks as needed. Someone who is happy to pitch in, and has a “see a need, fill a need” mentality will be valued.
- While not a requirement for this role, a candidate with experience teaching or tutoring early elementary-age children will be appreciated.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
- Cat friendly! Willing to support light pet care.
