Household dynamic:

  • This cohesive Bay Area family is excited to welcome another nanny to their team who will play a crucial role in their children’s lives! They describe themselves as busy and fun-loving. Their 7-year-old daughter is in first grade, and their 5-year-old daughter is in transitional kindergarten and will begin kindergarten this fall. Their 1.5-year-old son spends his day either attending music class or a bi-weekly outdoor adventure class and seeking out fun and new activities, whether it’s riding the train or exploring new playgrounds around the Bay area. He adores his big sisters, and the family would love to foster their sibling bond. The family also works with their nanny team to support his development through storytelling, playtime, and teaching him things as often as possible.  These parents allow their children to explore their interests, encourage them to try new things, and reward them for their hard work, no matter the outcome. Both children are learning Mandarin and working hard to continue their language development.  The nanny will be primarily responsible for caring for the family’s toddler. The family is excited to welcome someone who can support them in fostering well-rounded, thoughtful, kind, and compassionate children. They also have one sweet little dog, so someone who is pet-friendly and is comfortable with occasional light pet care is important.
  • This is a dual-career household where both parents work in an office most days and work from home once a week. Their extended family likes to spend regular time with them and occasionally helps with school pick ups. The family enjoys traveling around traditional school breaks such as ski week, spring break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and/or New Year's. They also take occasional weekend trips to their homes in Tahoe and Montana. The family aims to communicate their travel schedule with as much notice as possible, but appreciates flexibility for last-minute trip coverage.   They typically bring at least one nanny on their trips. Someone excited to join them in their family adventures will be a great fit! The family is supported by housekeepers, a nanny team (including one Adventure Nanny!), and an executive assistant.  A team-oriented candidate who can seamlessly navigate the family’s dynamic and work well alongside the family and other household staff will be beneficial!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a nurturing, dedicated, and reliable nanny who is a true role model, leads by example, and has a genuine commitment to their work. Someone genuinely excited to foster an active toddler, ensuring his overall growth and development through facilitating enriching, age-appropriate activities will be a wonderful fit! The ideal candidate will be proactive in keeping the toddler’s nap and meal times and preparing healthy, vegetable-focused meals. With the support of their nannies, the family aims to raise well-rounded, thoughtful, kind, and compassionate children who grow into hardworking and responsible individuals. A proactive and confident candidate who knows when to step in and out and anticipate the family’s needs will thrive in this role. A candidate with experience working on a nanny team and in a fully-staffed home will be appreciated.
  • Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, and engaging in educationally and developmentally appropriate play and activities. Candidates must be able to travel with the family and maintain organization, routines, and task management both at home and while traveling. This role requires communicating with other team members, sharing meal prep and grocery shopping, light pet care, and supporting the children in tidying up after themselves.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Mandarin or has a background in childhood development.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Comfortable driving in the Bay Area and mountain towns during the winter months
  • Comfortable cooking healthy meals for the children and occasionally for the whole family
  • Experience as a travel nanny and readiness to travel with the family!
  • Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US.
