A globally-minded family of three in Berkeley, CA is seeking an educationally-focused, engaging nanny to join them in caring for their 3-month-old!

• Location: Berkeley, CA
• Ages of children: 3 months old
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general weekly schedule falling on Monday through Friday for any 8 hours between 8am and 7pm, to be determined together with the candidate. Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and travel will be asked in advance and appreciated!
• Compensation: The family is offering $35-45/hour based on the 40+ hour/week schedule, which equates to annualized base compensation of $85-95+k/year dependent on experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and/or a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Flexible to live-in or live-out. If live-in, they are happy to provide a private bedroom and bathroom in a separate area of the home.

Household dynamic:

• These first-time parents welcomed their daughter at the end of 2021, and are loving their first months with their baby girl! As an international family who values a worldly perspective and education, they are excited to help give her all of the opportunities possible. The family is caring, generous, and altruistic, and is looking for a nanny who is excited to join them as an extended member of the family who can grow with their children. The family will be welcoming another baby this summer and will be working with a newborn care specialist for the first months. The family has two sweet, hypoallergenic dogs, and the mom runs a non-profit for animals. A candidate who loves growing with babies through the toddler years will have lots of sweet times to look forward to!
• The parents love to travel and look forward to having their nanny join them on adventures around the world. The family regularly visits their home in LA, and they typically travel a few more weeks each year, enjoying visits to China, Japan, Singapore, Italy, and France. They are hopeful to live in France at some point down the road during their children’s schooling years to expose them to French! Both parents are in and out of the home regularly, and both look forward to cultivating a relationship with their nanny that is collaborative and fruitful!

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for someone who loves the infant and toddler years, and is excited to create a stimulating and educational environment for children - the father works as a professor part-time, and the family values education! The family is excited to work with a candidate who brings an engaging and warm presence to their home and ultimately is focused on how they can best support the development of their charges. A candidate who makes an effort to engage all of their baby's senses, play outdoors, read books and try new things will be valued. The parents are hopeful for a collaborative relationship with their nanny and will be excited to hear regular updates about the children’s development!
• This is a truly child-focused role, and all responsibilities will relate to the child. Though it is not a requirement for the role, this family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish or French or someone who possesses coursework in child development.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license and passport
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Dog friendly! The family has two hypoallergenic dogs
