CLOSED - Educational Ranch Nanny Needed For Travel-Loving CO Family!

Closed
Nationwide

A laid-back family of three is seeking a nanny or educator to join them in enriching their 5-year-old’s daily life!

  • Location: Steamboat Springs, CO
  • Ages of children: 5 years old
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 45 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Flexibility to travel alongside the family will be key!
  • Compensation: The family is offering $38-43/hour based on the 45-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $94-106k/year. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance, relocation assistance, and full access to the family’s ranch activities and amenities based on candidate needs and the full benefits package. For an avid skier, the family may be open to providing a seasonal resort pass and for an avid horse rider, there are amazing opportunities to get out and ride with the best on property.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. The family is happy to provide a newly renovated, fully-furnished one-bedroom and bathroom cottage on the ranch complete with a full kitchen. Pets welcome!
  • Other Note: While driving is not a large part of the role, having a vehicle is essential to thriving on the ranch! The family is happy to provide access to on-property gas and a car insurance/vehicle stipend should the vehicle be used for professional purposes.

Household dynamic:

  • This welcoming return Adventure Nannies family has transformed this former dude ranch into a private ranch that is teeming with fun-filled outdoor activities surrounded by beautiful nature. From miles of cross-country and downhill skiing to horseback riding and snowmobiling to horticulture, hiking, and mountain biking, there is always an adventure to be had on the ranch! When not playing with dinosaurs or tractors, their 5-year-old loves to get outside and explore the property and enjoys being part of the ranch’s bustling community. His parents describe him as an energetic, sweet kid who responds well to people who follow a child-led, respectful approach to day-to-day interaction. A candidate who can foster an immersive learning environment and take advantage of all that the property has to offer will be a great fit.
  • Both parents work in and out of the home during the day tending to their work on the ranch, so collaboration is key with this family and their larger team. In addition to other ranch staff, the family employs a housekeeper who manages all laundry and deep cleaning needs for the household. When not at the ranch, the family travels often to destinations such as Seattle, Palm Springs, Florida, Texas, and Europe. The family has 7 dogs on their property in addition to horses, cattle, and barn kittens, so an animal-friendly candidate will also be essential!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a down-to-earth and educationally-minded candidate who is excited to foster an environment that nurtures child-led learning. The family will love working alongside someone excited about nature and playing outdoors, as their child is active and outdoor-loving! A caregiver who notices children’s passions and finds ways to nurture them will be key, as well as the ability to create structure and educational moments. They plan to enroll their child in school in the fall of 2025, and will appreciate someone who can ensure their child is ready! A candidate who loves to be outside and participate in activities like hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, exploring, and/or horseback riding will be a natural fit on this bustling ranch.
  • Responsibilities include all things childcare-related from tidying play spaces to identifying developmentally-appropriate activities to incorporate and light lesson planning, healthy meal prep, and generally bringing a devoted, proactive spirit to the role and each day. The ideal candidate will join the family for years to come and support them if/when they decide to grow their family!
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would be excited to work with a candidate who has an educational background or brings outside experience and passions to the role (speaking a second language, experience working with animals, or a past career).

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare or educator experience
  • Knowledge and experience with early elementary-age children
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license with a strong preference for someone with comfortability driving in the snow. For the perfect applicant, the family is open to providing a winter driving course for an inexperienced snow driver.
  • Experience traveling with families and children
  • Dog and animal-friendly! Willing to support light pet care like letting the dogs out during the day.
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws.

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US.
