Position Filled - Confident + Proactive Nanny Needed For Progressive Family In Palo Alto

A bustling, loving, and collaborative family of five based in the Palo Alto area is seeking an adaptable, supportive, and confident candidate to join their rotational nanny team!
- Location: Palo Alto, CA
- Ages of children: Two elementary and one toddler-aged children
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right person!
- Schedule: Two weeks on/two week off rotational schedule. While the candidate will be asked to provide 24/7 on-call availability during working weeks, they can regularly anticipate a maximum of 10-12 hour workdays falling between the hours of 7am-10pm.
- Compensation: The family is offering an hourly rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $156+k/year dependent on experience and reflecting the 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotational schedule 26 weeks/year.
- Benefits: The family is providing benefits including full healthcare, and vision insurance, dental expense reimbursement, fertility benefits of $50k, relocation assistance, opportunities for additional earning while traveling, and meaningful annual discretionary bonuses of 0-20% of salary based upon performance.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in while working, either in the family house or in an adjacent house. The family is happy to provide housing year-round at a separate house from the family depending on candidate preference.

- This family has put together a hardworking, proactive staff in their home. They are extremely community-based and family-oriented and love spending time with their close-by extended family.
- Their two eldest children, who are elementary-aged, are incredibly bright and inquisitive and partake in many creative and athletic activities, from sports to music. The family’s two-year-old is described as incredibly zen and always seeking joy. They have been lovingly supporting her through two open-heart surgeries in her first two years of life, and are amazed by her grace and strength through it. All three children have high energy and cognitive levels, and their otherwise accomplished parents are trying to keep up with them.
- They are a progressive, nurturing, private, and happy family with a dynamic fully staffed home and a history of longevity in their team! They look forward to inviting a candidate to the team who can integrate into their home and staff, adapt to their family’s style and structures, and can be a loving, conscientious, and professional member of the team for years to come!
Ideal candidate:
- The ideal candidate for this position will be intuitive, proactive, and will strike a balance between confident and adaptable. As the two eldest children are in school, someone who exudes experience and excitement for nurturing the toddler stages will be key! Someone who has a dedicated, rich experience in childcare and a genuine love for working with children will be a natural fit in this home.
- Responsibilities will include teaming with one other nanny on the team of four (including an Adventure Nanny!) to assist with morning routines, managing schedules, meal preparation, and pitching into the inner workings of the home with an all-hands-on-deck spirit. Mom is a passionate and dedicated stay-at-home parent who enjoys partnering with their caregivers and hopes for a candidate with a deep sense of step-in and step-out intuition.
- Being fully engaged, nurturing everyday learning opportunities, and incorporating an educational bend into daily play will be valued. A candidate with a formal background in early childhood education would be a huge plus as these kids love to learn!
- Due to their daughter’s recent surgery and recovery process, a medical sensitivity will be key in their chosen candidate along with a willingness to follow the family’s COVID and other health safety protocols will be essential!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws. The family will require a candidate to provide a full vaccination record ahead of hire.
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Ability to adhere to strict healthy home / healthy child protocols
- Strong/excellent swimmer and comfortable caring for children in and around water
- A genuine love of working with children with a dedicated and rich background in childcare
- A positive, welcoming, happy, and fun-loving spirit!
- A collaborative team player and able to adapt to routines and structures that have been established in the home
