Confident, Proactive Nanny/Family Assistant Needed for Fast-Paced, Loving CA Family

A loving Tarzana, CA family seeks a confident, highly organized nanny/family assistant to support their four children (ages 4-13) and household operations in a fast-paced, fun-filled home.

  • Location: Tarzana, California
  • Ages of children: 4, 7, 11, and 13 years old  
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Thursday from 11:00am to 7:00pm; 9:00am to 5:00pm on Fridays with expectations for hours to shift later into the evening ~3-5 times per month flexibility and willingness for additional evening hours as needed will be appreciated.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $50-55/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $104k-115k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with skillset and experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance and/or housing stipend for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.

Household dynamic:

  • This fun, loving family is seeking a compassionate and proactive nanny and family assistant to join them in caring for their four children ages 4 to 13! The three older children attend school full-time and the youngest is in full-day preschool. All four kids will be in the same school next year. Their boys play baseball frequently, while the girls love art, singing, dancing, swimming, and rock climbing. The candidate will be primarily responsible for managing and facilitating the children's after-school routines, assisting with homework, and driving to/from activities. Their 7 and 11-year-old children will benefit from extra attention and supportive care from the nanny. During school hours, the nanny will shift into a family assistant role, ensuring the household runs smoothly. The family is eager to partner with a candidate who can provide loving, patient, and structured care for their children and is excited to become an invaluable member of their home.
  • The family is deeply connected to their Jewish identity and values peace, love, and humanity, and is seeking a candidate who respects and embraces these values. Mom and Dad are actively involved in their children’s lives, but with Mom starting a new business, they need a trusted right-hand person to assist with childcare and household operations. The family enjoys spending time together and loves nature, the Dodgers, and taking ski trips. They enjoy visiting destinations like Utah, Mammoth Lakes, and Hawaii. This coming April, they are excited to be taking a ski trip in Switzerland with their extended family. A collaborative candidate who can foster a positive and supportive working environment in their home, working alongside parents and other household staff including a part-time housekeeper will be a great fit!

The family enjoys working with resourceful and adaptable candidates who can seamlessly navigate the family’s dynamic household, with a willingness to step in when needed. Experienced in caring for multiple children in a role particularly in the preschool through early teenage years will be highly valued. Someone with positive and respectful communication and interpersonal skills will be appreciated.
  • Responsibilities include both childcare and family assistant tasks. Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, picking up kids, after-school routines, coordinating activities, and occasional travel with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, meal planning and preparation, tidying the kitchen, grocery shopping, coordinating house projects, making appointments, and managing the family calendar.  
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with a passport and family assisting experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with preschool through pree-teen/early teenage children
  • Experience working with multiple children in a role
  • Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water and is a confident swimmer
  • Valid driver’s license
