An active and travel-loving family is seeking a confident, nurturing, and proactive nanny to help care for their children in New Jersey and beyond!
- Location: Mendham, New Jersey
- Ages of children: 7, 3, 2, and a new baby due in October! The nanny will not be asked to care for all of the children at the same time.
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50-60 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Wednesday through Saturday between 6 am and 7 pm. Flexibility for schedule adjustments will be asked for in advance and appreciated!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 50-60 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $100-145k/year, depending on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and/or a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live in. The family will provide private and separate living quarters within their home. This newly renovated apartment is located on the lower level of the family home and includes a bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen, laundry, and a private entrance.
Household dynamic:
- This loving blended family is excited to welcome a nanny into their lives! They have a 7-year-old son who is with them part-time, a 3-year-old son who loves sports, a 2-year-old daughter who enjoys music and gymnastics, and a new baby on the way! They will have a newborn care specialist for the first six months, and they also employ housekeepers. There are a lot of moving parts in their household and they rely on daily schedules and routines to help keep the ship afloat! Their previous nanny was with them for four years and they hope to create another mutually supportive and respectful relationship with their new nanny.
- One parent works primarily outside the home while the other is in and out of the home on a regular basis and enjoys interacting with the nanny and being hands-on with the kids at times throughout the day. The family is passionate about getting the children outside, exploring nature, and fostering a healthy lifestyle. Travel is also a big part of life for this family as they split time between homes in New Jersey, Florida, and Montana. A candidate who is excited and flexible to travel with the family will be valued!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a well-balanced professional nanny who loves working with infants, toddlers, and elementary-aged children and has a solid understanding of developmental milestones. A candidate with a background in early childhood education, Montessori, and/or RIE will be a huge bonus. This family appreciates working with a nanny who can meet the children where they’re at in their individual development to nurture and support their growth. Someone who likes to take initiative in planning educational and age-appropriate activities and engaging in play each day will be valued. This family would love to work with a candidate who enjoys collaborating with a stay-at-home parent, and who also feels comfortable and confident handling some of the kids and their daily routines on their own.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive. This includes but is not limited to, supporting sleep schedules and daily routines, collaborating with parents, helping with homework and school projects, child-related meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A candidate who is willing to help where help is needed will thrive in this role!
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish or Italian!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
- Experience traveling with families and children
