Household dynamic:
- This warm and supportive family of three is seeking a newborn care specialist to join them as they welcome their second child in April 2025! They are excited to work with a candidate who can create a nurturing and safe environment and provide excellent care for their newborn for the first 4 months. They also have a 3-year-old son who attends preschool three days a week and is eager to meet his new sibling.
- With busy professional lives, the family travels worldwide throughout the year. The family will be in California for a few months after welcoming the baby, and they plan to visit Michigan in the summer and would love for the newborn care specialist to join them. They value integrity, humility, humor, and close relationships with family and friends, and someone who shares the same values and can help instill them into their children will be highly appreciated. Another full-time Adventure Nanny also supports the family. A candidate who can work harmoniously alongside parents and other household staff is essential.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a knowledgeable, travel-ready newborn care specialist who is confident in caring for a newborn while supporting the family! The ideal candidate will bring an intuitive and proactive approach to their care, naturally anticipating the newborn's needs while supporting Mom as she embraces breastfeeding. Someone experienced in promoting healthy sleeping habits, including creating a consistent bedtime routine and calm sleeping environment will be a perfect fit!
- Responsibilities include creating a nurturing and safe environment for the newborn to thrive, as well as other child-related tasks including prepping and sanitizing bottles, baby’s laundry, tidying the nursery, and generally bringing a supportive, all-hands-on-deck, collaborative attitude to each day.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with a nursing and/ or RIE background.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant professional experience (as a newborn care specialist, night nanny, doula, or nanny)
- Experience working as a newborn care specialist and/or doula with at least 5 families
- Knowledge of every aspect of newborn care, including professional and working knowledge of feeding, bathing, and dressing infants, and preparing, cleaning and sanitizing bottles
- Experience and knowledge surrounding sleep conditioning, establishing routines, feeding routines, and developmental milestones
- Newborn care specialist training, preferably through Newborn Care Solutions or another CACHE-accredited program
- Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, Tdap, and flu
