A hardworking family is seeking a Newborn Care Specialist to join them as they welcome their first child this November!
- Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ and Columbus, Indiana
- Ages of children: Baby is due mid-November 2024!
- Contract dates: Beginning in mid-November for a 4-month contract.
- Schedule: Candidates can anticipate 4 weeks of 24/7 care and 12 weeks of 7-day/week 12-hour overnight care. Flexibility will be appreciated!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-50/hour, which equates to a base contract compensation of $58-84k, dependent on the candidate’s experience and the agreed-upon schedule and contract length. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
- Live-in/Live-out: Accommodations provided. The family will provide a bed in the baby’s nursery for overnight shifts and a private bedroom and bathroom for personal downtime at their main residence in Columbus. When the family is in Havasu, they will provide a separate home approx 14 minutes from the main home. If/when traveling, a private bedroom and bathroom will be provided.

Ideal Candidate:
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, is well-versed in traveling with families and babies, and is passionate about providing exceptional care to infants and supporting new parents! The family is excited to welcome someone who brings warmth and creates a nurturing environment for their child. Someone with a gentle and calm demeanor who can foster a comforting environment for the baby and the family will be valued. This family generally travels frequently, but they plan to stay between their two residences as much as possible during the first four months. Travel days can involve cars, a tour bus, and/or plane transport. The candidate can expect to care for the baby in various locations such as a hotel, motorhomes, and homes in different locations. A candidate should be comfortable and confident working on the move and in unknown places.
- Responsibilities include creating a nurturing and safe environment for the newborn to thrive and other child-related tasks, including prepping and sanitizing bottles, baby’s laundry, tidying the nursery, and generally bringing a supportive, all-hands-on-deck, collaborative attitude to each day.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant professional experience as a newborn care specialist
- Experience working as a newborn care specialist and/or doula with at least 5 families
- Experience working in a team or fully-staffed environment
- Knowledge of every aspect of newborn care, including professional and working knowledge of feeding, bathing, and dressing infants, and preparing, cleaning and sanitizing bottles
- Experience and knowledge surrounding sleep conditioning, establishing routines, feeding routines, and developmental milestones
- Experience working as a live-in nanny, or living with a family during off hours for an extended NCS contract
- Comfortable and confident frequently traveling with the family
- Newborn care specialist training, preferably through Newborn Care Solutions or another CACHE-accredited program
- Valid driver’s license
