First-time Boulder, CO-based parents are seeking a travel-ready, gentle NCS to join them in caring for their newborn in April 2024!
- Location: Boulder, CO and/or Vancouver, BC. The family looks forward to finding a candidate who would join them in either/both locations and beyond!
- Ages of children: Expecting in April 2024!
- Start date/Contract dates: 6-month contract, from April 1, 2024 through September 30, 2024
- Schedule: 9 weeks of 18-hour care and 17 weeks of 12-hour overnight care. Flexibility will be key!
- Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to a daily rate of $725-845/day for 18-hour care and $450-530+/night for 12-hour overnight care, which equates to a base 6-month contract compensation of $100-120k dependent on candidate experience and the agreed upon schedule and contract length. The family will be hiring their NCS as either a W2 employee if based out of the US or a T4 Canadian employee if based solely out of Canada.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including 7 days of paid time off, 3 paid sick days, a vehicle for professional and personal use, and flights to/from the candidate's home location at the start and end of the contract length.
- Live-in/Live-out: Accommodations provided. While on duty, the candidate will be provided a bed and private bathroom in/near the baby’s nursery. The family will provide separate, off-site accommodations for their NCS while they are off duty. Accommodations may be shared with other staff.
- Other Notes: Flexibility for base location and travel will be essential for the duration of the contract! Pending the duration of the contract spent in Vancouver, B.C., the family will help facilitate the candidate securing a Canadian work visa as needed.
Household dynamic:
- This loving, warm, and relaxed couple is excited to welcome their first baby in April 2024! Though they are typically based in Boulder, CO, the family is unsure of where they will welcome baby and are seeking an NCS who can join them wherever they may be in caring for their newborn. Someone who is up for adventure will be key, as the family loves to travel and may do so during the contract! The family also has two dogs at home, so a love for dogs is essential.
- The family also works with a housekeeper, who may join them if they are in Vancouver. Someone who works well alongside others will be key, as the family also hopes to have a long-term nanny join them during the NCS’s contract. Someone who can step in and step out to provide family time will be appreciated as the family enjoys special moments with their new baby.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for an experienced NCS who is calm, adaptable, self-starting, and enjoys working alongside first-time parents. Someone confident and knowledgeable about caring for newborns and creating a foundation for great routines will be a wonderful fit. A candidate who can provide gentle guidance and advice will be appreciated as the family welcomes their first baby.
- A candidate who is excited to be a pillar of support to navigate feedings, create strong sleep foundations, and support the family and infant with all baby-related caregiving, tidying, and baby-related household upkeep will be valued. Someone who can support the family on any travel during their contract will be appreciated!
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with any candidates who bring additional training or years of experience to the role!
Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant professional experience (as a newborn care specialist, night nanny, doula, or nanny)
- Experience working as a newborn care specialist and/or doula with at least 5 families
- Knowledge of every aspect of newborn care, including professional and working knowledge of feeding, bathing, and dressing infants, and preparing, cleaning and sanitizing bottles
- Experience and knowledge surrounding sleep conditioning, establishing routines, feeding routines, and developmental milestones
- Newborn care specialist training, preferably through Newborn Care Solutions or another CACHE-accredited program
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Dog friendly!
