A dynamic, on-the-go family is seeking an experienced, adventurous, and educationally-minded nanny to join their family in Florida and beyond!
- Location: Splitting time between New York and Florida. Florida is home base!
- Ages of children: 5 years, 4 years, 2 years, and 8 months old. The candidate will rarely (if ever) be responsible for all four children at the same time.
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Sunday through Wednesday from 8 am to 6 pm or similar! The candidate can expect to work 4 ten-hour shifts per week. Additional hours for travel will be asked for and appreciated! This position has the potential to transition into a rotational schedule come winter.
- Compensation: The family is offering $45-50/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $93-104k/year depending on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health plan paid in full, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Flexible to live-in or live-out while in Florida. If live-in, the family will provide two options for the candidate to choose from. The first option is a one-bedroom pool house with a full kitchen. The second option is a studio apartment on their property. When in New York and while traveling, the family will provide private accommodations.
Household dynamic:
- This loving, laid-back, and dynamic family has four sweet and active kids! During their busy travel months, the children are homeschooled, and when at home in Florida, they settle back into more traditional schedules. During their time at home, the older two children attend Montessori school full-time, and the two-year-old attends part-time preschool. The older children enjoy being active and playing outside, reading, arts and crafts, and more. These parents prioritize a screen-free environment and look forward to working with a nanny who can bring an enriching and educational bend to the daily routine. In addition to their children, this family has four dogs and one cat! They also employ a house manager and a housekeeper and they look forward to hiring a second nanny and transitioning to a rotational schedule after their travel season comes to an end.
- Travel is a huge part of life for this family, which can sometimes require being flexible and spontaneous depending on what is happening at the time. During their busy travel season, the family is based in New York with frequent travel to other cities, sometimes with short notice. The family looks forward to working with a candidate who can go with the flow and be able to pivot and adjust the kids’ schedules as needed. When they are home in Florida, they enjoy having a more consistent and predictable schedule.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a professional nanny who is truly passionate about supporting the development of children ranging in age from infant to toddler, and beyond! A candidate who is travel-ready and who thrives in a busy and often changing environment is imperative for this role. The family values working with candidates who enjoy engaging in active play with the kids as well as creating calm, structured activities. Additionally, it is important to know when to step in and out with other tasks based on when the parents might like some one-on-one time with the kids during the day.
- Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to grow and thrive! This includes but is not limited to supporting daily schedules, children’s meal prep, helping prepare the children’s items for travel, planning engaging activities, and finding educational moments in the everyday.
- While not a requirement for this role, the family would love to work with a candidate who possesses a background in early childhood education to help support homeschooling while on the road!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants, toddlers, and early-elementary-age children
- Experience traveling with families and children
- Dog and Cat/Pet friendly!
