A professional, globally-minded California-based family is seeking a proactive, confident, collaborative nanny/family assistant to join them for a 12-month contract!
- Location: Saratoga, California
- Ages of children: 5 years old
- Contract dates: 12-month contract beginning in February 2025
- Schedule: Full-time, the family is offering 41 hours per week, with the schedule falling on Friday through Tuesday. On weekdays, candidates can anticipate working between 1:30pm to 8:30pm and 10 hours per day on weekends. The family is willing to pivot hours to provide one weekend off per month, and flexibility to provide two overnight shifts per month is essential.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and a vehicle for professional use. They are also open to covering the cost of shipping the candidate’s vehicle to California.
- Compensation: The family is offering $50/hour based on the 41-hour/week schedule, which equates to a total compensation of $108k based on the 52-week contract. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Accommodations: A private off-site apartment will be provided for the duration of the contract.

Their 5-year-old son is a bright, precocious student of the world. He loves to build with Legos, and learn new things. He is a connoisseur of facts and details about sharks and planes, and speaks Mandarin.
- The family loves traveling and enjoys exciting destinations such as Hawaii and Utah for skiing during school breaks, as well as visits to Malta in the summertime. They value open-mindedness and clear communication. They would love to welcome a candidate who enjoys a dynamic, on-the-go lifestyle and is excited to join in on their family adventures!
Ideal Candidate:
- This position is ideal for a self-motivated, travel-ready nanny/family assistant who is genuinely excited about nurturing a bright and curious preschool-age child while supporting the family! The family is eager to work with a detail-oriented candidate who is confident in fostering their child’s development and can safely guide him through everyday routines and unique travel experiences. The family would love to work with a candidate who is experienced working with children who require extra attention and guidance, understanding and supporting behavioral needs with patience and compassion. The ideal candidate will be proactive in anticipating the child’s needs and able to transition smoothly from spontaneous play to facilitating self-led learning. Someone comfortable collaborating with parents and assisting with general household routines will be highly valued.
- Responsibilities include being a proactive, supportive childcare provider! A candidate who can assist with light child-related tidying and meal prep, packing and unpacking, laundry, planning engaging activities, joining existing family activities, helping with errands, and being a collaborative, warm person to have around will be a perfect fit.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with someone with a background in occupational therapy or special education, and/or someone fluent in Chinese.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with school-age children
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Comfortable preparing basic meals for children
- Valid driver's license
- Valid passport
- Experience traveling with families and children
