A loving, active Bay Area family is seeking a second nanny to join their travel-ready household team in caring for their children!
- Location: Hillsborough, CA
- Ages of children: 1.5, 4, and 6 years old
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 43-50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Thursday-Monday. Candidates will work 3pm-9pm on Thursdays, 7:30am to 6:30pm on Friday-Sunday, and 3pm to 7pm on Mondays. The family is flexible to create a schedule that works well for all parties, and appreciate flexibility for summer schedule adjustments, occasional evenings, long weekends, and frequent travel. This position will work in tandem with other nannies on the team!
- Compensation: The family is offering $40-45/hour based on the 43-50 hour/week schedule, which equates to annualized base compensation of $93-130+k/year dependent on experience. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and/or a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Flexible to live-in or live-out. If live-in, a private one-bedroom apartment on the family's property will be provided. If live-out, the family is open to providing a monthly housing stipend.
Household dynamic:
- This outdoorsy Bay Area family loves to adventure! Whether they’re at home in California or catching waves in Hawaii, travel is a big part of their lives. At ages 1.5, 4, and 6, their boys are described as active, bright, and fun-loving. They enjoy legos, soccer, tennis, and playing in the water, so a safety-minded candidate who is eager to keep up with their busy crew will be a great fit! Their two eldest children attend school full-time in the Bay Area during the week, and the candidate’s role will primarily focus on caring for their 1.5-year-old during school hours.
- The family travels frequently and works with a bustling household team! The family’s team includes a housekeeper, a family assistant, and a co-nanny. Nannies share hours, and care of the children will be shared amongst nannies and parents! Candidates will not have sole-charge care of all children. The parents are excited to work collaboratively with their nanny and team and are both in and out of the home during the day. They use a child-led, Montessori approach with their children and look forward to welcoming another nanny who shares this approach.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a candidate who is ready for adventure, has a go-with-the-flow while professional attitude, and is educationally minded. A candidate with a love for travel and the outdoors will feel right at home in this role (a passion for skiing, swimming, and/or surfing will come in handy)! This wonderful career opportunity will be perfect for a candidate ready to bring a proactive, organized, and collaborative energy when working with this family and staff.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, and errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A willingness to pitch in with family assisting duties is appreciated!
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a Montessori background!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Experience with the toddler through early elementary years
- Experience traveling with families and children
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US.
