An on-the-go, friendly family of four based in Brooklyn Heights is seeking a calm and reliable nanny/family assistant!
- Location: Brooklyn Heights, NYC

- Start date/Contract dates: January 2024 or sooner!
- Schedule: Full time guaranteeing 47.5 hours/week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-6:00 pm or similar. Flexibility to adjust the weekly schedule to cover 1 date night/week, travel with the family 8+ weeks/year domestically and internationally, and provide occasional weekend coverage will be asked and appreciated with advanced notice.
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour depending on experience and the agreed-upon schedule which equates to an annualized base compensation of $93,275-$106,600/year.

- A friendly, organized, and on-the-go family in Brooklyn Heights is seeking an experienced and passionate caregiver to grow alongside them! This family of four is excited to welcome a reliable, loving and organized nanny to their team. At 4 and 1 years old, their children are described as being playful and energetic. Their eldest attends preschool during the week. The role will focus on caring for their 1-year-old and family assisting tasks during the day, in addition to supporting morning and afternoon routines for their preschooler!
- The family travels and looks forward to working with a candidate who is excited to travel with them, with advanced notice, to destinations like their home in upstate New York, Martha’s Vineyard for two weeks in the summer, Europe, and other domestic and international destinations! Both parents will be in and out of the home, so comfortability collaborating with parents on daily schedules, and being excited to plan activities for their 1-year-old both in and out of the house each day, and extra-curricular activities for their 4-year-old will be valued.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a candidate who is gifted with organization, creativity, and a go-with-the-flow attitude! Someone who is experienced with the toddler-through-early elementary years, supporting multiple children in a role, and has experience with instilling structure including respect, boundaries, and communication skills will be a wonderful fit. The family is excited to work with a nanny who is energetic and fun, happy to run around with the kids at the playground, or come up with creative art projects or imaginative games at home, and has patience and a loving demeanor as well as knowledge about child development. Proactivity in seeking learning and socializing opportunities where their children can engage and get outside every day no matter the weather would be appreciated. A nanny who is attentive and safety-oriented is essential. Comfort with both driving and public transportation would be useful. The family also values a well-kept home to resort to, and would love to work with someone who is naturally tidy and can leave things in ship shape at the end of each day!
- This is a hybrid family assistant/nanny position. Nanny responsibilities include creating an environment for the child(ren) to grow, thrive, and feel loved, child-related household tasks including but not limited to cooking with and for the kids, tidying, children's laundry, organizing of children’s areas, before and after school routines, researching and coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting includes but is not limited to responsibilities like family errands, children’s wardrobe management, inventory management, and grocery shopping.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks French!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid passport
- Experience supporting multiple children in a role
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers and preschoolers
- Travel-ready and flexible to travel with the family 8+ weeks per year
- Dog friendly!
- Up to date on standard vaccinations
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
