CLOSED - Professional Nanny/Family Assistant Needed For Active Malibu Family

This relaxed, health-conscious family is seeking a nanny/family assistant to join them in caring for their 2-year-old!

• Location: Malibu, CA. The family also splits their time between New York, Colorado, Florida, and Idaho.
• Ages of children: 2 years old
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 45-50 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm. Flexibility to travel for extended periods and ability to provide half-day coverage on Saturdays or Sundays 2x per month and evening coverage 1x per month will be key for this role, as well as occasional overnight care.
• Compensation: The family is offering $40-50/hour based on the 45-50 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $99-123.5+k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is offering a robust benefits package including paid time off, paid holidays, FSA/HSA, health, dental, disability, life, and vision insurance. A vehicle will be provided for professional use. The family is open to providing relocation assistance for the right candidate based on need and the full compensation and benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Flexible to live-in or live-out. A private and fully furnished bedroom and bathroom will be provided in all locations, and a private guesthouse or lodging is available at some of the family’s locations.

  • The family maintains a substance-free household, and a candidate will need to be comfortable adhering to this.
  • The family will prioritize LA-based candidates and/or candidates with ties to the area looking to relocate.

Household dynamic:

• This calm, dynamic family is excited to meet and share their world with their future nanny! Their toddler loves to be outside and adores all things nature, sports, and water. The family is excited to find an outdoor-loving playmate for him. They also have two dogs they love and see as a part of the family, and they hope their nanny will, too.
• While their main home base is in Malibu, the family also spends a significant portion of the year in Colorado, New York, Idaho, and Florida. They spend 6 months in Malibu, 3 months in Idaho, and the rest of the time traveling to other locations. Someone excited to join them in splitting time between these exciting locations will be essential! They also enjoy traveling internationally and take trips a few times each year to places like Switzerland, France, and Portugal. Both parents will be in and out during the day, so a candidate who is collaborative yet able to work independently will be a good fit. The parents met at a yoga teacher training, and appreciate living a conscious life and creating a calm and peaceful environment wherever they are. Someone who contributes to this sense of peace will be a wonderful addition to their team.

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for a professional nanny and family assistant who is adaptable and ready to take on new adventures and live in multiple locations with this travel-savvy family! Someone who can balance household organization/family assisting with facilitating fun outdoor adventures with their son and two sweet dogs will thrive in this role. This is a tight-knit family, so the ideal candidate will also strike a balance between stepping in to support their needs and stepping out to allow for important family time and keep the household running smoothly. The family is considering having another baby in the future, so candidates with experience caring for infants and toddlers will be valued.
• The schedule and breakdown of weekly nanny/family assisting duties will be designated at the beginning of the week. Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the child to grow and thrive, tidying and organizing children’s areas, coordinating activities, traveling with the family throughout the year, assistance with entertaining, simple meal prep (think cutting vegetables, boiling rice, etc.!), running errands, managing pet care, packing/unpacking, preparing residences, and organizing deliveries/returns.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Travel experience
• Hybrid nanny/family assisting experience
• Valid driver's license and passport
• Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
• Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
