A progressive, high-energy CA-based family is seeking a compassionate, self-directed nanny for their 12-year-old son!
- Location: Marin County, CA
- Ages of children: This role will focus on the family’s12-year-old. The other children are 5 and 8 years old.
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday between 6:30am and 6:30pm. A candidate will be compensated for being on-call while the child is in school (8am-2:30pm), and will not be required to regularly work during school hours. Flexibility for travel is essential and will be communicated in advance!
- Compensation: The family is offering $50+/hour based on the above-outlined weekly schedule. Projected annualized base compensation will be in the $182+k/year range (before bonuses and travel stipends) based on current employee earnings.
- Benefits: The family will provide benefits including a $2,000 monthly housing stipend, paid time off, paid holidays, full health, dental, and vision insurance, an education stipend, and relocation assistance. A vehicle will be provided for professional use.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. The family is providing a housing stipend. Accommodations will be provided when traveling alongside the family.
Household dynamic:
- This collaborative, lively family team is seeking a nanny who is experienced with and passionate about supporting children. The role will dually involve supporting the child daily through personal care tasks and managing administrative duties to to engaging in their passions of outdoor activities.
- During the week, all three children attend school full-time and enjoy a bevy of afterschool activities. They have a community-minded home, which bustles with extended family and friends, so it is always busy!
- On weekends, the family travels to vacation homes in rural northern CA, Maui, and Tahoe for ski team. Summer and school vacations are spent abroad, and nannies are included depending on skillset. 2024 took the children to Lapland, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Colorado, Berlin, Croatia, London, Madagascar, Uganda, and New York, for example.
- This is a fully staffed home, and the family seeks to cultivate a cooperative and harmonious environment where people love coming to work. The family is also home to two rambunctious pets, a dog and a cat, so candidates should be comfortable working in a home with pets. Someone who is travel-ready, open-minded, and excited to work alongside progressive parents in a team environment will be a great fit.
Ideal candidate:
- An attitude of science-first, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ friendly, feminist, and general effort to be kind and work hard fits the family ethos.
- This role is ideal for a true team player who is confident interacting with parents and other nannies, and can demonstrate a history of successful collaboration.
- The ideal candidate will have a love for adventure, creativity, and the ability to build strong connections with each child while fostering a fun and active environment. Someone who is educationally minded and focused on the child’s development is essential.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who can ski, is a strong ocean swimmer, or has a formal background in early childhood education!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Fully-staffed home experience
- Experience traveling with families and children
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
