CLOSED - Organized + Nurturing Infant-Savvy Nanny Needed For 4-Month Contract In Upstate NY

Engaging and adventurous first-time parents in Upstate, NY are seeking a thoughtful and routine-loving nanny to help care for their newborn for a four-month contract, with the option to extend for the perfect fit!

• Location: Ghent, NY
• Ages of children: Baby will be ~6 weeks old at the start of the contract
• Start date/Contract dates: July 1 through October 31, 2023. For the perfect applicant who has availability, the family may be open to extending this contract to a long-term position!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm or similar.
• Compensation: $35/hour based on the 40-50 hour/week schedule, which equates to a base contract compensation range of $24-33k. May be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: Paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance.
• Live-in/Live-out: Accommodations provided. The family will provide a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor of their home. Candidates are welcome to live out if desired.

Household dynamic:

• These first-time parents are about to embark on their greatest adventure yet, becoming parents! They describe themselves as being adventurous, focused, and food-centric, loving the opportunity to try new cuisines while traveling or near their homes in Upstate, NY, Montreal, QC, and Costa Rica. They will be welcoming their first baby any day now, and they are thrilled to become a family of three, with two sweet and cuddly dogs as well.
• Both parents work from home and try to nurture a caring and calm environment and look forward to working with a nanny who can contribute to this vibe. In their free time, they prioritize tactile, hands-on activities over screens as a form of entertainment. They enjoy being active and creative every day! One of the parents is bilingual, speaking both English and French. They would welcome the opportunity to work with a French (or even Spanish) speaking candidate, but this is not a requirement for the role. The family splits their time between three countries and they look forward to working with a candidate who is interested in staying on long-term and joining them in their travels.

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for a newborn and infant-savvy nanny who maintains warm and positive energy, and who loves working with infants and first-time parents! A candidate passionate about helping establish routines, meeting developmental milestones, and truly connecting and engaging with baby will thrive in this role. The parents would love to work with a candidate who is communicative and collaborative. They are excited to find someone loving, helpful, and nurturing, and excited to join them on their new adventure.
• Nanny responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for baby to grow and thrive. This includes but is not limited to, prepping and sanitizing bottles and/or pump parts, baby’s laundry, and tidying the nursery and generally bringing a supportive, all-hands-on-deck attitude to support these parents. The family would love to work with someone who is happy to pitch in with family assisting duties like occasional grocery shopping, basic meal prep, feeding and occasionally walking the dogs, and some help tidying up and organizing. These duties will be as time allows, as the family is excited to step in and spend as much time with their child as possible.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a Spanish or French language background and/or who enjoys cooking and is open to occasionally preparing healthy meals for the whole family.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license and passport
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
