Household dynamic:

  • This busy family of six is seeking a nanny/family assistant to join their family and co-nanny while their current nanny is on leave. Ranging in age from 4 to 10 years old, this active bunch loves to stay busy! From skiing to lacrosse and tutoring, the children are all engaged in different activities and the family is eager to find a nanny who can support them. All four children attend school during the day, so the role will primarily focus on family assisting while they are in school.
  • The family has other staff, including a chief of staff, house manager, housekeepers, and a childcare manager, so someone who enjoys a team dynamic and works well alongside parents and the household team will be key. They utilize positive parenting and are excited to work with someone who brings an even-keeled, warm approach to working with children! Travel is a big part of life for this family and they love to visit Tahoe in the winter months. They have a couple of trips planned during the contract, and it would be great for the candidate to join them as needed.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who is organized, communicative, and loves working in a team environment! The family looks forward to finding a candidate who can jump in where needed, and who can complement their existing team. During the day, the role will primarily focus on child-related tidying and family-assisting activities, and in the afternoon the role will shift to supporting the children’s after-school and evening routines. Someone who empowers children to be self-sufficient and can provide guidance and encouragement will be key!
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to tidying, organizing of children’s areas and belongings, before and after school routines, and coordinating activities. A candidate who is comfortable with running errands, jumping in with children’s meal preparation, and traveling with the family as needed will be important.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish! They will be focusing on SF-local (or nearby) candidates for this position as a priority.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge and experience with preschool through elementary-age children
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
