An enthusiastic, empathetic, and professional family in Washington D.C. is seeking a nurturing, travel-ready, inclusive nanny to join them in caring for their one-year-old!

  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Ages of children: 1 year old
  • Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 55 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. Availability for occasional evening and weekend hours will be asked for in advance and appreciated.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $25/hour based on the 55-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $81k/year range dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out

Household dynamic:

  • This loving social-justice-oriented family has a one-year-old son who is as sweet and curious as they come. He loves music, playing outdoors, and eagerly exploring the world around him. And since he recently began walking, his exploration has turned up a notch! Both moms work in the nonprofit sector, and are passionate about creating a safe and inclusive world! This family loves to take walks with their friendly small dog to Union Market on the weekends, spend time at the park, and simply enjoy the outdoors anytime they can.
  • The parents regularly attend evening events during the week and will occasionally need to leave their son home with the nanny during these events. Travel is also an important part of life for this family, as work can take them to different locations. They travel together as often as possible and look forward to finding a nanny who is excited to travel with them in the future!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who is warm, nurturing, open-minded, and who brings an enthusiastic and positive attitude to their day. A candidate who is outdoor-loving in all seasons, flexible for travel, and willing to jump in to help as needed will be a valuable member of this family. Someone who brings a developmentally minded approach to the day and proactively researches, and implements activities and educational play while supporting the child's curiosity and exploration, will thrive alongside the family.
  • Responsibilities include creating a nurturing and safe environment for the child to grow! A candidate who is proactive and able to jump in and help out where needed is key.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to meet a candidate who is fluent in Spanish and can support their son’s second language development.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
  • Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
