A mindful Bay Area-based family is seeking a compassionate, adventurous, and professional nanny to join their team in caring for their children!
- Location: Palo Alto, CA
- Ages of children: 2 elementary-aged children
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on 4+ days/week, for example, Wednesday through Saturday, working 5-10 hours per day with the general schedule falling between 10am and 9pm. The family is flexible to create a schedule that works well for all parties and will appreciate the flexibility for occasional evenings, the ability to support a minimum of 1 weekend day per week, and frequent travel. This position will work in tandem with other nannies on the team!
- Compensation: The family is offering $40-60/hour based on the 40-45 hour/week schedule and an annualized base compensation of $100-140+k/year dependent on experience. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience. - Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. Private and separate accommodations at the family's properties (or nearby) will be provided while traveling.

- These busy professional parents have created a home that is warm, peaceful, and stimulating for their children. Their eldest is energetic, curious, and bright; they love to learn and go to the library to research. Their youngest is sweet and gregarious and loves to meet new people and keep up with their older sibling. Together, the family enjoys reading, baking, exploring wherever they are, and value fostering a nurturing, curious environment in their home. They are excited to find a nanny who can combine their professional skills with a sense of fun and adventure to be a part of their children’s growth. The family also has a baby who is supported by other nannies, but flexibility to jump in where needed will be essential!
- Both parents are in and out of the house regularly, and they have a full team that includes other nannies, a private educator and on-site schoolhouse, a chef, and a housekeeper. This family spends a lot of time traveling, both domestically and internationally, and looks forward to working with a nanny who will be excited to join them on their upcoming adventures!
Ideal candidate:
- The ideal candidate for this role will be able to thrive working both autonomously and collaboratively, and will bring enthusiasm to engage with the children each day. A candidate who is confident in communicating with the team, maintaining loving boundaries with their charges, and bringing an adventure-ready attitude to each day, as this family travels frequently, will be a perfect fit on this team!
- Responsibilities include assisting with child-related transportation, schedule coordination, and accompanying the children to activities as needed. The candidate will also be responsible for all things child-related including, managing children’s inventory, packing/unpacking, overseeing children’s schedules, light, healthy meal prep if needed, and more. Working in partnership with parents and planning enriching activities beyond basic care, including local outings and adventures will be appreciated. Good communication skills, flexibility, and excitement to partner with the parents, nannies, and other staff will be essential in this home.
- This family places a high value on education and will be prioritizing candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in education and/or childhood development. Someone who is trained in, or aligns with, the Montessori method will be a great asset to this team and the family's Montessori homeschool pod. Other strong pluses for this family include staffed home experience, travel nanny experience, and proven experience or training in the Montessori methods in previous roles.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Ability to swim and comfortable caring for children in and around water
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
