Household dynamic:
- This close-knit family of five is excited to welcome two engaged and genuinely kind ROTA nannies to their family team. Their 10-year-old daughter is in 5th grade and is described by her family as a bright, inquisitive, artistic, and mathematical child who enjoys creative and athletic activities. Their 7-year-old son is a kind-hearted, empathetic, soccer-loving kid passionate about science and engineering. The youngest, a joyful 4-year-old, loves to play chess, especially when she checkmates her dad! The family has lovingly supported her through three open-heart surgeries and countless other severe health concerns, and they are amazed by her grace and strength through it all. Given her heart condition and weakened immunity, the family maintains a strict protocol in their home to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, flu, RSV, etc. All three children have a high energy and cognitive level, and their otherwise accomplished parents are trying to keep up with them.
- The family is extremely community-minded and family-oriented and loves spending time with their extended family. They have only traveled domestically with the children in recent years, but they hope to visit London and Paris next fall. A candidate who is travel-ready and experienced in supporting families during their travels will be essential. They are a progressive, nurturing, private family that promotes love and kindness above all else. They have a fully staffed home and a history of longevity in their team. Their dedicated staff includes nannies, chefs, gardeners, housekeepers, and drivers. They look forward to inviting a candidate to the team who can integrate into their home and staff, adapt to their family’s style and structures, and be a loving, conscientious, and professional team member for years to come!
Ideal candidate:
- The ideal candidate for this position will be intuitive, kind-hearted, highly engaged, and will strike a balance between confidence and adaptability. Someone with a genuine love for working with children will be a natural fit in this home. Nurturing everyday learning opportunities and incorporating an educational blend into daily play will be valued. This role also includes physically supporting their youngest daughter by carrying or lifting her when she shows signs of fatigue or difficulty regulating her temperature. A nanny who can actively spot their youngest child during physical activities to ensure safety will be beneficial as she is behind on her gross motor skills. The family is excited to work with a candidate who is highly organized and responsive to the variable needs of the family and the household.
- Due to their daughter’s recent surgeries and compromised immunity, extreme medical sensitivity will be essential along with a willingness to follow the family’s COVID and other health safety protocols will be essential!
- Responsibilities will include assisting with morning routines, managing schedules, light meal preparation for the kids, and pitching into the inner workings of the home with an all-hands-on-deck spirit. Mom is a passionate and dedicated stay-at-home parent who enjoys partnering with their caregivers and hopes for a candidate with a deep sense of step-in and step-out intuition.
- While not a requirement, the family would love to work with a candidate who loves to swim, ski, and ice skate.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for preschool to grade school-aged children
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Physically able to lift a 35+ pound child
- Ability to adhere to strict healthy home / healthy child protocols
- Experience traveling with families and children
- Experience working in a fully staffed environment and able to adapt to routines and structures that have been established in the home
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws. The family will require a candidate to provide a full vaccination record ahead of hire.
