CLOSED - Kind-Hearted + Developmentally-Minded Nanny Needed For Growing LA-Based Family

A close-knit and organized Pacific Palisades family is seeking an engaging and educationally-minded nanny to help care for their two children for years to come!

• Location: Pacific Palisades, CA
• Ages of children: 2 years old and baby #2 due late July
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm or similar. Additional hours for occasional date nights, weekends, and travel will be asked for in advance and appreciated.
• Compensation: The family is offering $40-45/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $83-93k/year range. May be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live out. The family is open to providing a temporary landing pad for the perfect relocation candidate.

Household dynamic:

• This warm and adventurous family has a two-year-old daughter and another on the way! Their daughter is described by her parents as sunshine personified and has been a happy girl since she was born. She loves arts and crafts, reading, dancing, ball sports, toys, playing at the park, assisting in making meals, and bubbles! She is also a great sleeper and eater looking forward to beginning preschool part-time in the fall. They cannot wait for their new baby to make her debut at the end of July, and are eager to work with a nanny who has experience and a passion for both toddlers and infants! In addition to their children, this family also has three cats and is considering adding a dog to the mix in the future. They are supported by a great team that includes the children’s grandma, a newborn care specialist for the first six months, and housekeepers. A candidate who is collaborative and team-oriented will enjoy this environment.
• One parent works primarily outside the home while the other is in and out of the home on a regular basis and enjoys interacting with the nanny and being hands-on with the kids at times throughout the day. They split their time between homes on the west coast with occasional travel to other domestic locations. Once their new baby is older, they hope to expand their travels even farther and would love to have their nanny join them!

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for someone who loves working with infants and toddlers and has a can-do attitude! A candidate who has an early childhood education background or possesses a solid understanding of early childhood development and infant and toddler milestones is a huge bonus for this family. Someone who likes to take initiative in planning age-appropriate activities and engaging in play each day will be valued. This family would love to work with a candidate who enjoys collaborating with a stay-at-home parent, especially after the new baby is born but who also feels comfortable and confident handling the kids and their daily routines on their own. Additionally, it is important to know when to step in and out with other tasks based on when the parents might like some one-on-one time with the kids during the day. Someone who loves to swim in the backyard pool, is excited to travel with the family, and is looking for longevity in a position is key for this family.
• Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to grow and thrive! This includes but is not limited to, supporting sleep schedules, keeping to daily routines, collaborating with parents and staff, children’s meal prep, infant bottle washing and sanitizing, child-related tidying, and laundry. This position would mainly focus on children’s daily needs, but may also include occasional family assisting duties such as organizing, store runs, decorating for the holidays, and generally helping out where needed.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
• Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
• Cat and dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
