Household dynamic:
- This kind and welcoming VA-based family is seeking a caring and compassionate nanny to join them. As first-time parents to a sweet 6-month-old baby girl, they are dedicated to providing well-rounded early childhood care that cultivates a nurturing environment for her growth and development. Their daughter brings them absolute joy and is described as a sweet child who loves her outdoor walks and delights in gazing up at the trees and engaging in the natural world. Someone who can create an enriching, growth-oriented space for social, emotional, and cognitive development will be a great fit. The family also has an adorable pet dog, their daughter’s loyal furry companion, so pet-friendliness is essential!
- These dual-career parents work from home separate from the living spaces. Dad is regularly in and out of the home throughout the day, while Mom primarily works at home. Someone who can intuitively provide excellent childcare, while smoothly navigating the family’s dynamic is vital! The family enjoys staying active and exploring new places, so a candidate who shares this love for the outdoors and exploration will fit right in.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who brings a compassion-focused, child-led approach to care. Someone well-versed in caring for infants, and providing the child with attentive, and holistic care and a nurturing environment that fosters her growth and development will be an excellent fit. The family looks forward to hiring a caregiver who is a beloved partner in caring for their child, and who can grow alongside her as she reaches new milestones.
- This is an infant-focused role. Responsibilities include creating an environment for the infant to grow and thrive, infant-related household tasks including but not limited to children’s bottle and meal prep, tidying the nursery and organizing the child’s belongings, and occasional errands. Other duties include light pet care and coordinating activities.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks a second language or has a Bachelor’s degree.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
- Valid driver’s license
- Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
- Up-to-date on all standard vaccinations (Tdap, COVID, Flu, etc.)
