Infant-savvy, team-oriented nanny needed for respectful, on-the-go Palo Alto family and team!

 

  • Location: Palo Alto, CA
  • Ages of children: Newborn
  • Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on 4+ days/week, for example, Wednesday through Saturday, working 5-10 hours per day with the general schedule falling between 10am and 9pm. The family is flexible to create a schedule that works well for all parties and will appreciate the flexibility for occasional evenings, the ability to support a minimum of 1 weekend day per week, and frequent travel. This position will work in tandem with other nannies on the team!
  • Compensation:  The family is offering $40-60/hour based on the 40-45 hour/week schedule and an annualized base compensation of $100-140+k/year dependent on experience. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.   • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including 4+ weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, fully covered health, dental, and vision insurance, 401K matching, bonus opportunities, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. Private and separate accommodations at the family’s properties (or nearby) will be provided while traveling.

Household dynamic:

  • This family welcomed their newborn this spring and is loving their company! They have been working with a team of doulas for the first few months of baby’s life and look forward to transitioning into long-term nanny care. The family also has two other children in the house, but this candidate will focus on infant care.
  • This is a busy home with many moving pieces! Both parents are in and out of the house regularly. The collaborative family team includes other nannies, a private educator, a chef, and a housekeeper. This family spends about 75% of the year traveling to exciting destinations, both domestic and international, and they are eager to partner with a candidate who is excited to join them on their travels throughout the year.

Ideal candidate: 

  • This position is ideal for a candidate who brings a warm, calm, gracious, demeanor to their role, and who is a true team player! Candidates should be familiar with the newborn through toddler stages, and eager to support the development of a growing infant. A professional candidate who can maintain boundaries with children, staff, and parents is key. A candidate who can speak to their commitment to childcare, with a proven ability to thrive in a professional environment, and who is eager to join a team where they can grow and thrive alongside this bustling family and team will be a perfect fit. This is a child-focused role. 
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to bottle preparation and sanitization, tidying and organizing of children’s areas, and traveling with the family frequently throughout the year. Flexibility to pitch in where needed will be appreciated!
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has an educational or teaching background and/or has experience with the Montessori/RIE philosophies! Someone who engages with children mindfully and respectfully, and aligns with Montessori/RIE philosophies is key.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Experience working with infants
  • Ability to swim and comfortable caring for children in and around water
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
