Closed
West Coast

A professional and travel-loving family based in San Francisco, CA is seeking an energetic infant and toddler-savvy career nanny to help care for their two children!

  • Location: San Francisco, CA
  • Ages of children: 2.5 years old and 3 months old
  • Start date: Mid-February or as soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, 3-day/week schedule, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Friday through Sunday from 8am to 8pm. Flexibility for additional weeknights, overnights, and travel (5-10 day trips) will be essential for the right candidate. The family looks forward to designing a weekly schedule that works well for all parties!
  • Compensation: The family is offering $45-50+/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $94-104+k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits, including paid time off, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance (if applicable).
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-in or live-out. The family has a strong preference for candidates who live-in only during work days and will provide a private and separate bedroom and bathroom within their home. They may be open to providing a housing stipend based on candidate need.
  • Other Notes: A candidate experienced with infants and toddlers in the same role, longevity in previous positions, a Montessori background, and someone who is organized will be a wonderful long-term fit. The family would be excited to work with candidates who have previously been successfully hired by Adventure Nannies families!

Household dynamic:

  • Based in the heart of San Francisco, this return Adventure Nannies family describes themselves as a kind, loyal family who work hard to balance professionalism and fun. They have a 2.5-year-old son, and a new baby they welcomed this past October! Their oldest son attends Montessori school full-time (Monday-Friday), and this candidate can anticipate tag teaming with the mom to care for the infant while their toddler is at school and support the care of both children on the weekends.
  • These parents are in and out of the house on a regular basis, so a candidate who is comfortable collaborating daily with parents is important. They love to travel whenever possible throughout the year both on domestic and international adventures and are thrilled to begin bringing the newest member of their family with them! The family deeply values well-rounded care – emphasizing the safety of the children first and being a self-starter with a can-do attitude is a top priority.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an experienced candidate who has a strong background in caring for infants and toddlers at the same time. A candidate who is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about playing an integral role in a child’s early stages of development will thrive in this position. Flexibility, an adventurous spirit, and organization will also be valued, as the nanny will provide support both at home and on their frequent travels! The family hopes to work with a nanny who considers professionalism, discretion, reliability, planning and honest communication as pillars of their character. A step-in and step-out intuition will also be appreciated to both take the lead and be a guide and resource, as well as let the parents take the lead and jump in during the day for fun activities.
  • Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to grow and thrive! This includes but is not limited to proactively researching and implementing developmentally-minded care, child-related tidying and organizing, children’s laundry, child-related prep (both bottles and solids), and light household tidying. Someone who can pitch in and leave the home clean and organized will be valued.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with NCS or doula training, and/or a candidate who has extensive travel nanny experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license and passport
  • Experience traveling with families and children
  • Experienced caring for an infant and toddler at the same time in a previous position(s) and knowledge of age-appropriate developmental milestones
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable law

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US. Out of respect for the privacy of the families we work with, we cannot provide any additional information about this position other than what has already been provided in the job description.
