An adventurous family based on Nantucket Island is seeking a patient, outdoor-loving nanny to join them in caring for their children!
- Location: Nantucket Island, MA
- Ages of children: 2 and almost 4 years old! The family is expecting, and excited to welcome their third child this January. The nanny will rarely care for all 3 children simultaneously.
- Start date/Contract dates: The family is excited to find a candidate to join them beginning this January for a 6-12 month contract, with the option to extend long-term for the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Thursday between 1pm to 7pm and on Friday from 8am to 4pm. Flexibility for weekly date nights, weekends, and travel will be asked for in advance and appreciated!
- Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73-83k/year range dependent on experience and the agreed upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full compensation and benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Accommodations provided, flexible to live-in or live-out. The family is happy to provide a fully furnished on-property studio apartment with an in-unit kitchen, bathroom, and laundry.
Household dynamic:
- This adventurous, organized family is excited to welcome their newest addition and become a family of five this winter. Based on the beautiful island of Nantucket, this family loves exploring their local beaches and hiking trails, caring for their flock of chickens, and picking produce from their backyard garden! Their two daughters, ages 2 and almost 4, are described by their parents as being imaginative and insatiably curious. They love playing inside and out, enjoying arts and crafts and adventures to the local museum or library. Their eldest child attends school full-time 4 days per week, and their two-year-old attends part-time. They use a gentle parenting style and limited screen time, and look forward to finding a nanny who can encourage exploratory play and independence.
- The family travels a couple of times each year, and are excited to have their nanny join them. They’re headed to St. John this spring, and last year they enjoyed visiting Jackson Hole, Florida, and Texas. The family also has a small dog at home, so animal lovers should apply!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who is excited about molding children into happy, confident people! A candidate who is child-led and brings an attentive, reliable, and present energy to their role each day will be valued. The family loves to spend time outdoors, so someone who is activity-oriented and happy to play outside rain or shine and explore their local environment is key! A candidate who has patience and experience supporting multiple children in a role, as well as someone who knows how to support development for the infant through preschool years will thrive. The family values having open communication with their nanny, and hope to work with someone who can have a dialogue with parents and be open to feedback.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to children’s meal prep and cooking, tidying, organizing children’s areas, and errands, helping with before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family as needed throughout the year. A willingness to pitch in with the general organization of the home and unload the dishwasher or jump in on an errand will be appreciated in this collaborative home.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a background in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for the infant through preschool age range
- Valid driver's license and passport
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
- Pet friendly!
